  3. Hi all Happy new year to you. Over the christmas period i have been recovering a model that was long over due to be recovered, but it got me thinking as to what people are now using instead of the solar trim. I know that solar film alternatives are out there but are there any trim alterantives. I am also aware that there is still solar trim available but its choice is limited in colours so what do you use ? Kind regards Tony J
  4. Hi Tony H I too prefer IC over electric and agree with some of what you say though I think price increases are just a sign of the times at the moment ,all things seem to be on a upward trend. I worry that the noise issue maybe the eventual end of IC over electric but hopefully not for some time yet. I do love the sound of 4 strokes(but only have two in my small collection of planes), 3 two strokes and one electric .Will soon be adding another 2 stroke to my collection. Kind Regards Tony J
  5. Down the patch on a summers evening everything just so, then you do that (rare in my case) Perfect landing Kind Regards Tony S
  6. Yes please, and a Merry Christmas to all Kind regards Tony J
  7. Hi Nigel Second paragraph I bought an adaptor that allowed you to fit the socket from a three wire switch into it so it effectively became a charge socket on the air frame but as i said never got on with it . Cheers Tony J
  8. Hi all I was wondering if many people use these switches that have the inbuilt charge socket and if you find them useful . I was thinking of fitting one because i do like to test my battery before a flight (that just me ). I did fit one of those sockets on its own but could not get on with it kept pushing the plug back out must have done something wrong when i set it up anyway that's long since gone with the airframe kind regards Tony J
  9. HI Thank you for your comments both You have a good point there Cuban 8 about reinforcing the under cart section. I will look at that. Richard when you say you put it next to the tank did you mean at the side of the tank in the same section because that is about where I reckon I need it to get balance . Many thanks Tony J

  16. Good morning All I have a canopy that is located with two peg at the front and then two M3 screws screw into the sides . Now I was flying the other day and returned with one screw missing. So is there away that I can stop them from coming loose in flight. I thought about thread loc but thought this may not suit as they need to go in and out on a regular basis so any suggestions please . Many thanks in advance. Kind regards. Tony J
  17. Hi last year my wife and I were walking up Snowdon in wind and damp when we decided we were getting quite wet on the leg area so stopped to put our waterproof trousers on . The warmth that then came to me I was amazed at . Now to be fair I have not tried this yet when down the patch but may give it a go . otherwise for me its a wool hat finger less gloves . Had a sort of neck thing for xmas dont know what they are called but you put it over your head and its sits around you neck but it can stretch up around face etc also set to give a go at the patch. Regards Tony J
  18. Hi all I have a fancy to build a war bird . Now I am looking to build from a plan so my preference is that of balsa also that of I.C . I believe that these type of models can be difficult to fly which is why I am asking if anybody out there has one that they might like to recommend as a good one to start with . many thanks in advance Tony J

  21. Hi all I have recently hooked up a plane in a buddy system so that I can take my first flight with it with a more experience flyer. However I found that all surfaces were swapping over nicely except the ailerons which seem to have a mass of movement when switched to the trainer tx . I have had to use all my sub trim on the trainer tx to equal them out. now have read in the instructions that it does not recommend that you use too much sub trim to do with overiding the servos can anyone throw any light on why I have had so much movement. all is fine on the master tx and the plane has been flown master tx is JR slave is Spektrum Dx6i hope this makes sense Thanks in advance for your time Kind Regards Tony J
  22. Hi all Just doing a bit of a repair, flying was all going so well till it didn t lol. Hi all Ok, all is sorted now , so I had a little play with the engine at home a good clean out of everything a slight adjustment of the low end needle ,which I must admit I don't like to mess with . changed the plug just for the sake of it , went flying yesterday not one dead stick anywhere , a nice tick over when coming in to land many thanks all . Kind regards Tony J
  24. Hi all thank you so much for your advice will try all of these options. Denis its a two stroke engine. John have uped the clicks a couple of times and tried resetting the adustment in case it was moving too far but had not had issue before ,trouble is I am not good with engines it was a quite a while before i was able to tune them without help not sure I am that clever now but learning. changing the plug I will do next . mowerman . if engine is over cooling what is the thing to do for that cymaz will try the low speed needle and richen it slightly I will report back as soon as I have sorted it no flying today sadly so may be next week weather permitting Thanks all again Kind regards Tony J
