  1. just to cover the 3 blade prop thing you can use a 3 blade on a laser its just that efficiency isnt that good and performance is average at best. I flew my 80 powered Hurricane on a 14x7 3 blade and it wasnt brilliant. It performs really well on a 14x7 2 blade apc though While they look cool you cant tell how many blades its got when its running so go for the prop with the best performance.

  2. It is 3mm ply. Do you mean it shouldn’t be a problem? So following the instructions I got all the components for the wing out and separated. Came away easily and very neat too. These laser cut parts are excellent. Then onto putting it together. Despite the warped main spar it goes together easily and very quickly and in around twenty minutes it was ready for gluing with the warp almost imperceptible. Sometimes the video is hard to follow because the impressive young chap who does it moves to quickly and you have to try abs figure out which piece goes where. A few shots without his hand sun the way would help- as would a full size plan! A little bit of testing suggested that the gluing would remove the rest of the issue so I went ahead. I confess I had forgotten how awkward super glue is with balsa especially the recommended thin cyano but I Confess it makes it easy to glue. So a few minutes later and it was done. I puts some grease paper underneath to I didn’t glue it to the Mat. This was sensible as it did run through in a few places. I then left it to fully dry and made the ailerons which were a bit fiddly but went together easily enough. Tomorrow I will sand the aileron edges and tidy up any sharp edges on the whole wing. The holes are cut for the hinges but they will need covering first. then I will start on the fuselage. As I am going to put a nitro engine on I am going to double the firewall with another sheet of ply. Then add the engine mount after I have drilled the holes for mounting it. I will then have to see how the fuel tank fits. I have a four ounce and a two ounce. Not sure which to use - I do want to keep the weight down but two ounces may not provide very long flight times. So, TBC. enough for one day but I must say I had forgotten how enjoyable making your own plane is.

  3. Maidened this morning. E-Flite Air Tractor. Really smooth and easy to fly. Fitted with aftermarket main gear and wheels and a few small enhacements.

  4. Used to be good, but now overhyped, overpriced; HH after sales support poor. In my experience.

  5. Very realistic! The scenery and livery reminds me on the ones that linger around the airport in Bezier in the south of France, when we've been deposited by Ryanair!

  6. Hello after been ‘back burnered’ for most of the year, finally finished planking etc. Going to cover tail feather in tissue dope and glass the rest of it. Will build engines and wing root after initial glassing. Glad that planking is over ?

  9. We must be lucky (I speak for my street). All of our delivery services including Parcelforce have been uniformly superb, particularly during the worst of the pandemic and lockdowns. Special mention to Parcelforce, who carted some parcels all the way down to our greenhouse, instead of leaving them where I'd asked which would have seen the contents ruined in a heavy shower. The downside is that our two lovely east-european postie ladies, who were around almost every day during the earlier lockdowns, now seem to have disappeared, which is an absolute crying shame...

  10. Yes old grumpy is back, just had to finish the cowling! could not leave as was, model now truly ready for a ground run and then flight early next year or maybe before. Did ask a mod to tidy up my last post, guess he has the same side bar pre-view as me and decided not to open! never mind A! ?

  12. Despite what I said earlier I do have to agree that E-Flite models fly extremely well. The FW-190 of my friend flew wonderfully but was a real handful on take off and landing. I met him at the club this morning and he's selling it on and has bought a second hand FMS Corsair which he flew and is very happy with. I must also say that my E-Flite Air Tractor completed it's maiden flight + one this morning and redeemed itself. Within 30 seconds after take off it was evident that it was an extremely well behaved aircraft, super smooth and very easy to fly, and I'm really looking forward to many more flights.

  13. What force is required to make it straight? Very little I would assume. Just looked at the build video. We can stop talking about building boards and pins. This is a self jigging slot together build. I would slot the wings together and check for straightness this is all done before applying glue. Then take a photo as I am interested to see how it looks.

  15. There is an easy way. Just buy plenty of balsa, any excess can be used on the next build.?

  16. The spar will be fixed and pinned to the building board In a straight line And the build, glued and pinned will straighten out the spar.

  17. EFlite gear is generally very good indeed in my experience -and I have at least a round dozen of their models. They produce very well thought out and executed models and accessories. Just lately their models have started to be aimed at a significantly higher price point.

  18. Hello Andy, I had a similar issue with my seagull edge. Needed about 400g. I used some brackets that fit via the engine stand offs as shown below (a picture paints a thousand words ). Drilled to accept cable ties and the lead wrapped in electricans tape to tidy it all up a bit Loads of flights with it now. The other day i had the cowl off and all was still tickety boo with the installation craig
