  1. Nice one Nick, I love to watch a wing come together. Building wings is my favourite part of modelling. Cheers, Hugh
  2. Hi all, I have the RCAF version if this kit (a fellow club member has the RAF version). I hope to start my build later on this year. Getting lots of inspiration from this thread and might have to clear the building board I think! Cheers, Hugh
  3. Thanks guys. Just another build to add to the long list of must do's... Goldberg Aniversary Cup is next on the list to finish. Mates tell me I should get an ARF and get it in the air as quickly as I can, otherwise it will just sit on the shelf with all the other engines in my collection... The Black Horse 20cc FW190a looks nice (if a little pricy - Although I can buy a Black Horse FW190a with Air retracts for almost the same as a 50 size Kyosho Fw190 will cost (go figure)). But I like building... Cheers, Hugh
  4. Well, I had a bit of luck on the weekend and WON an OS GT22 petrol engine in a raffle. Overpowered for this model do you think? Cheers, Hugh
  5. Ah, yes... I forgot you were doing an early version... The cut outs in the lower main planes had me confused for a minute there. Certainly a great deal more progress than my own build of this design. Cheers. Hugh
  6. If you are in Aus, can I suggest SC Models in Melbourne. They can take a paper plan and by means of some slight of hand, laser cut you some speccy balsa and or ply bits. They cut me a batch of ribs for my 1/6 scale BE2c from a CAD file that I prepared for them. Looking forard to seeing this plan BTW... I was drooling over the FW 190 plan from last year today... Cheers, Hugh
  7. Hi Danny. Mark VIII Scratch built by Australian Scale Champion David Law. 1/4 Scale. All Balsa and Spruce with Fibre Glass coating. Can't recall what engine is in it, but it's a Petrol jobbie (I think it's around the 60cc Mark). Flies like the real one! Very Scale. I'd say he does still have th mould. Cheers, Hugh
  8. I carry two cameras whenever I go to a comp, club day or fly in. My much loved Nikon D80 with a Tamron 70-200 F2.8 permenantly attached to the front and an old D70 with the D-80's Kit lens (a Nikkor 18-135 F4.8-5.6) on it. I shoot only on Apperture Priority and use a polariser on the 18-135. The only quibble I have with either camera is that the Auto focus is not really up to todays standards with what is available in say a D7000 or a D7100. One day I will justify the outlay and treat myself to a Nikon D7100 and a Nikkor 100-400 F4.8-5.6... but not quite yet. Some examples of my stuff can be seen here, **LINK** Cheers, Hugh
  9. The Victorian Scale Association held a Scale Flying comp at our field last weekend. A few of my shots can be seen here. **LINK** Thanks for Looking, Cheers, Hugh
  10. I keep on checking the Downloads section for this... A bit worried that it will get forgotten and never be available... Not that I desperately need these you understand, but the file will be handy to have. Cheers, Hugh
  11. So... what's happening boys? Do we have a working plan for a DH60 yet? Cheers, Hugh
  12. It's a damned site (no pun intended) faster to load I'll give it that. It was taking ages last week. Cheers, Hugh

  14. Our strip is east west, but we get prevailing westerlies. This dictates right hand circuits, but when the wind drops we always take the opportunity to turn things around. In reality, you have to be pretty procicient at cross wind take offs and landings to fly at our field. Cheers, Hugh
