Dancing Wings Hobby Air Kart kit
Rene Wallage replied to Rene Wallage's topic in Sport, Aerobatic and 3D kits
I anchored all the 2mm balsa ribs on the rear ply rib, and than inserted the ply ribs, top first, followed by the bottom. The balsa ribs are extremely weak, and I'll need to repair some in situ before I can continue. But at least it looks alright! -

I think I got it! On the train to work I thought it out (I think). First, I luckily didn't use any glue yet. Take it apart again (carefully; those 2mm balsa ribs break when you look at them.) Put together the ribs from the top, than pick up the whole assembly, and slide it onto the ribs that fit from the bottom. I'll let you know... -

I have soft spot for flying wings. So when I saw the delta wing of Dancing Wings Hobby I was interested. And than there was one of those dark thursday, green friday whatever day, and the kit showed up at a very attractive price on one of those Asian market sites. So after lying on the shelf for a while, I started building (the Phase 6 will have to wait a little longer). As with many cheaper kits, the lightness comes from not too high quality balsa. The main ribs (in the first picture) are decent 3mm balsa, but the rest is very light 2mm. Oh, and apart from a sheet with pictures, there is no manual... My problem is that all the ribs fit together as an over/under puzzle (you can see the rib in the 2nd picture with slits at the top and bottom), and I'm not sure how to do that without breaking the ribs. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

I'm sorely tempted. Trying to convince my club to do a group build, and debating between the Ohmen and the Swizzle Stick...

On Angelwing's website there's no sign of the Blink anymore! Will it ever come back?

I have since replaced the Rx with a *cough*cough*corona and had many enjoyable problem free flights, including many speck height flights...

We have since been in contact with other Futaba users, flying large scale models and jets. They confirmed that, according to their experiences (and crashes), the R23008SB is not compatible with the 14SG. I contacted Futaba, but so far they've been silent.

Has anyone have had any problems with their Futaba SG14 Tx and a Futaba R2008SB Rx in a F5J setup? There's 3 of us in our club with the same setup, and we all have had crashes due to erratic elevator behaviour, followed by total loss of control...

I am in shock. So, so sad. An immense loss to all. We never met, but were in contact on the various www applications. Always ready for a bit of banter and sound advice. Missing you already. My heartfelt condolences to the blond person and all the family, may you have a long, healthy life, with fond memories.

Chris Foss Phase 6 Build
Rene Wallage replied to Paul Hampshire's topic in Slope Soaring and Dynamic Soaring
I am notoriously adept in getting hinges poorly aligned, not straight, etc, resulting in badly aligned, and warped control surfaces. If I were to use pin hinges, what size should I get? -
Chris Foss Phase 6 Build
Rene Wallage replied to Paul Hampshire's topic in Slope Soaring and Dynamic Soaring
The Phase6 kit does not come with a plan (or at least the one I have lying on top of the cupboard, next in line to be build). I have the instructions if you like.
