  1. Really guys, even the Spektrum DX18 review was sailplane orientated! Anyway I won't waste anymore of your time.
  2. Hi guys, is it possible to unsubscribe via email? I'm no longer in the UK so don't want to be making a phone call.   My reasons for unsubscribing are simple and i'll cover them if you want some feed back; The magazine doesn't cover the area of RC flying I enjoy which is EDF, from the hundred of fantastic looking models available, the only time in months you choose to run an article on an EDF and you choose a cheap tatty looking model. The only reason I can think of is because it was from a British company. You simply ignore all the fantastic Chinese made aircraft for reasons unknown.   The magazine is heavily biased towards free flight models with at least an article of two in every single edition.   Your Nuremberg article summed this up for me, it would appear the model industry no longer produce EDF aircraft, 6 free flight models photographed and yet only one (again cheap eBay toy looking) EDF. The editorial staff clearly have their favourites when it comes to models so unfortunately it's time for me to move on to a magazine which covers the aircraft I enjoy and not the aircraft you enjoy.     Edited By Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator on 15/04/2013 21:39:26
  3. Hi Richard, I live over in Dubai and Alan is correct, nothing is cheap, it's all UK prices even though its supposed to be tax free! There is a big model shop which used to be called Ultimate Heli but has now changed to **LINK** Have a look for your self at the website, prices aren't great are they! I guess being over here on a tax free salary makes up the difference but there really aren't any bargains around unless you shop during the sales festivals or you're buying expensive one off things like a new car!
  4. Tim, is there a vantage point you can see over the tops of the corn or somewhere you can put some steps to give you a height advantage? I wouldn't let this go so easily, they are so light weight that there will probably be little damage from the crash so well worth recovering. Mark Powell; your attitude saddens me.
  5. I subscribe to RC pilot magazine, there was a full article about this amazing model, the builder has some real talent when it comes to designing and building unusual flying models.
  6. Well from memory, put a needle in the join line on the forward fuselage to the rear of the foreplanes and line up the trailing edge of the foreplanes with that needle. That should give the foreplanes a slight nose up attitude, if it doesn't then it may be the leading edge that was aligned with the pin, which ever way gives the nose up setting to the foreplanes. That setting was found to give a nicer take off and nicer flight characteristics.
  7. Ah ok, I didn't realise this was the maiden!   They do tend to stick to the ground on take off roll then leap into the sky! Have you read the huge thread on rc groups on this airframe, it tells you how to set the foreplanes up correctly etc to make takeoff easier.   Edited By James40 on 02/06/2012 20:25:20
  8. I use the humbrol spray paints, they give a fantastic finish and are foam safe.
  9. Hand launch is always an option on this one, it has more than enough static thrust and very easy to grip.
  10. Some guys have fitted a longer nose leg to help launching off grass, that may be an option for you? Are you using the vectored thrust?
  11. Looks really good Thomas, have you flow it in the evening yet or in low light?
  12. Struggling my way through trying to read it as a digital copy is very frustrating but I'm up to page 8 and it's been good so far (that's not a measure of my reading age, just my battle with trying to make the digital version work).
  13. Take note of the instructions Eric, "remove jumper and keep it in a safe location" Seems like sound advice!
  14. Row 8, pins B and C See here Edited By Steve Hargreaves - Moderator on 19/04/2012 15:25:03
  15. From what I recall of the reset jumper, it was a small yellow plug which jumped two adjacent pins unlike the usual plug that jumps the two outer pins. Do still have the instructions, it's written in them? I don't have access to mine at the moment I'm afraid as I left my rc gear in the UK.
