Electric glider tug
steve 1 replied to Neil James's topic in Gliders and Gliding - General Discussion
Thank you Wookman. The tug pilot did make sure the line was on top of the servo and in theory the line should never be that low again, sods law says it will at some point. I have suggested perhaps some balsa or wire going from the tail plane to the top of the fin done on both sides at an angle so the line could pass over the fin if needed. Steve -
Electric glider tug
steve 1 replied to Neil James's topic in Gliders and Gliding - General Discussion
Hi Neil, we are in the early stages of trying the tow glider thing, still learning for the tug pilot and me the glider pilot, we can see the tug needs to do a shallower climb to keep momentum as a couple of the tows have come to a stall, obviously once I realised/seen the tug was/had stalled I released from the tow. steve 1 replied to Paul Marsh's topic in All Things Model Flying
My latest build, laminate film covering (purchased from Ron Gray ?) and a spitfire diesel engine, I have named it "Naked Princess" because I have covered it in laminating film, no colour. Yet to maiden as it is a total of 1lb11oz I am waiting for the wind to go down a little. Steve -
For my FT200, I would have dumpy plus (being greedy now) just the header stubs so I can make my own silencers as I did with my lavochkin, if you started doing the flexi again that would be great.

Laser fly in at national centre?
steve 1 replied to Jon H's topic in Shows, Club Events and Competitions
I was lucky enough to pick up an original "Retlas" kit still in the box, below is what I had to start with but the tail planes are foam core on mine. I am going to fit the 240v when time permits. Steve -
