  1. Under starters orders, eyes down, here we go ......... also don't forget radio brand, castor oil ...... gets very predicatable and boring 😉
  2. I can confirm that the Gangster is still impressive 😃 I have a tradditional "heavy" G 63 with OS 55AX and it is one of my favourite models and it does everything nicely!
  3. Irvine 53 in mine, excellent match. Unfortunately sold it to the club crash King who promptly smashed it 😪
  4. Well ......... if all goes to plan, I should be receiving a new old kit tomorrow! David offered to release his so I snatched the chance. I will post pics when I get the kit. The fb market place chap never bothered to get back to me
  5. But as Andy Symons once said to me.... in a club of 50 members, there are 50 variations of common sense..... or something like that.
  6. Could this thread be made a sticky? Could call it "how not to sell an engine"
  7. Excellent! I'll PM you David
  8. Thanks David that would be much appreciated!
  9. My 'classic' flies perfectly on a 55AX, one of my favourites
  10. Can anyone help me find a Superfly please? Eutopia would be an un-started kit, yea right, next best is a complete example. Something that can be restored is fine. I am based in the Midlands. Thanks
  11. Got to 😃 just found this Yamamoto. Unfortunately Gary is certain I am looking for a Superfly and anyway this has balsa fuselage: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305286028440?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ar-Hrsh4Qaa&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=eKZIRBm1RH6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL
  12. I can see why KC mentioned it now, very similar. I've been trying to find the bloke I purchased my "yammyfly" off to see if can remember anything about it. No luck yet. The Superfly Gary found is £80 and the bloke is going to send some photos. Unfortunately it's too far for me to travel
  13. Thanks Gary. Unfortunately I'm in the Midlands but I've messaged the FB lead. Shows they can still be found
  14. Thanks Gary, I can't argue with million percent! I had seen your previous posts. How would I go about finding one now?
  15. Itch and scratch is spot on. One of my flying mates asked if I was going through a 'funny phase' ..... Magnatilla, E-flite Beaver and now a trainer
  16. Thanks David. It does look more Cessna like. Hopefully I will forget all about this model soon, the last thing I need is another plane, especially a trainer!
  17. Although looking at the pictures it looks less than 60" span? I think I had a 40 in it which flew it ok but I didn't know enough to judge how well 😅 Just looked at the one on OZ which has 56" span so could be it. That's a balsa fuselage kit so could make one of those but it wouldn't be quite the same
  18. I struggle with plane recognition and parts of my memory so I'll assume it's the Yamamoto. Unfortunately the chances of me finding one are about zero. I did manage to get some flights on this model but realised that the work/house/kids thing, plus the classic cars, meant RC would have to wait until later. I think I had one of those Flash engines in there, it worked OK. If someone has one of these models please let me know
  19. Thanks all..... Yamamoto it is I think. Now I wish I'd followed my gut and gone for the one on Ebay!
  20. Hi KC thanks for the leads. I really can't remember but there was a Yamamoto on Ebay recently and that rang a bell - I will look further
  21. I know it's impossible but........ I prised this trainer off Mark in the DO around 1982 and nearly learned to fly with it. I can't remember what it was, I can't even remember who to/how I sold it. It had a composite fuselage and that's all I remember about it. Mark's dad was a director at Leyland hence the decals. Any help would be appreciated so I can recapture this part of my flying story 🙂 I think I am just slightly less unhappy in the pics than my wife!
  22. J Martin's post is good. However, if you can wait until after your holiday, I will help you with the engine. It is too easy to damage yourself or the engine if you have no experience. Speak when we next meet! Martin
