  1. I was interested in building the P Miller T31 but did not have the right copy of RCME so looked it up on Myhobbystore and ordered a back copy of the March 2010 issue as indicated in the blurb. It arrived about 10 days later but my copy makes no reference at all to this motor glider. After contacting base I''ve had about 4 we''ll follow it up emails from a couple ladies to say they''d check and today, several weeks later, got a garbled no reply (good job it was no reply I nearly was very rude) email which told me to refer to the descriptive blurb.   Either I was sent a duff copy of March 2010 or the article isn''t in it. This was my point if it''s not in that months copy which is it in ~ referring me back to the original bum info is as useful as an ash tray on a motorbike.   Please does anyone know which issue the article (and plan if it came with one) is in?   v. frustrated and worried I''m going nuts   DT @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  2. Thanks, 9x6 was what I'd hoped/thought was about right.   Talking about killer thermals, just about a week ago I got in one and with spoilerons deployed still found it hard to lose height to the point I began to think I might lose the model! I reckon a brick would have flown. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  3. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css); Thanks for reply ~ I'm still unsure about prop size, folder or fixed.   I do fly several e soarers so appreciate the drag implication of a fixed prop and am prepared to accept this as a "scale" sacrifice as, with the wing loading as it is, one is unlikely to exploit much thermal advantage anyway I would guess.   David   ps the Giant Cod motor suggestion for this motor is 11 or 12" dia which seems far too big and a certain grass cutter! From the plan with C/L horizontal 10" or less looks right ~ what do you reckon? @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  4. re electrification of this lovely model, I can't find reference (I may be blind) to the prop size to use with the brushless motor. Grasshopper mentions a folding prop, I'd want to stay more scale like with a fixed prop   Any ideas folks   David @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  5. Many Thanks, off to see if I can create a unit that fits, isn't heavy and most importantly WORKS otherwise it's the fixed leg for me!   David @import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  6. Many thanks again Peter, the "bits of bent wire" you mentioned fooled me as I had previously seen the unit you refer to so now know what you meant.   Just one final question before I mock up a similar retract to test for viability ~ is the fixed 2½" wheel you specify about scale or have you gone for a size which has the best ground handling characteristics?   best wishes David
  7. Thanks for advice Peter, I have seen one he sells for his 1/4 scale RF4 but it seems to be a different construction to the one you mention.   David @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  8. @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css); hi Peter,   I love this model and would like to build one when I have a bit more time. I am likely to electric power it .   The only other mod I'd be interested in would be to fit a retract for the main wheel ~ do you know if this has been done, or is possible, if so is there a "unit" out there that would be suitable. I have noted the previous threads and think the full size glider wheel retracts forwards anyway and (I'm no ic. man) the electric set up might allow modding of F1 and a rejigging of tank space to accept a Lipo on its side next to the wheel unit   David @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
