  1. Glad to see you back with the Fury Colin. I did not bother with rib tapes in the end even though I bought some form Mike Reeves. Still getting diverted from the Hurricane build. Built a couple of thermal gliders as well as repairs. Keep going Colin. Graham
  2. I sized my struts off the drawing, but had to re build the port strut as the rear vertical was about 1/8in too short. I used epoxy to glue the brass plates to the ply strips and then a balsa faring each side. The brass lugs top and bottom just slotted into the slots on the wings. Occasionally on landing they will pop out. Does that help? Graham
  3. That looks good Colin. No excuses now apart from the cold. I'm so thankful that my workshop is in the house! You seem to be spending a lot of time on these fiddly indoor models. I don't think I would have the patience. I'm back on the BT Hurricane. Keep safe and enjoy the season. Graham
  4. Keep going Colin. Looking forward to seeng the completed Fury. Graham
  5. I had a problem (see my post in October last year). I felt the rear cabana struts were too short. I cannot remember whether I remade them or not. The interplanetary port strut rear leg could be about 5mm longer as per Danny’s RCM&E article. By the way I really enjoyed reading it. graham
  6. I used no offset and noticed no flying problems. Could be my insensitivity. I will pay more attention on the next outing - probably 2021. Graham
  7. Thanks gentlemen for your favourable comments. I like your idea Eric for the rigging. Before the Fury goes away for the winter, I will replace the Reeves rigging with 18swg wire and steel clevices with one end allowed to swivel. The it will be on with the Taylor Hurricane and Mosquito (over 4 years since building started) unless I get diverted again Graham
  8. Good to see you back with the Fury. Keep going. It is so easy to get diverted. It happens to me all the time! At last my Fury took to the skies at the weekend. We have had some great days, calm and warm conditions. There are a couple of pictures following. I made a big mistake in using Mick Reeves rigging. The turn buckles were a nightmare to fit in the field (or back of the car!). I will be changing them to wire and steel clevises as per Bryant's plan. Otherwise I was very happy. Last of the wires fitted. Lift Off Graham
  9. I've just checked the sports hall web site that we use and it states that it is in fact 4 courts. The walls still come into play. Maybe I should try the Hummingbird. I've been flying a Horizon Sports Cub there for the past couple of years and there is room enough, so some of Tony's kits would be OK. I've just looked at Martian's Bleriot build - it looks far too fiddly and fragile. Graham
