  1. The crack is only about 1/3 of the way around the entire circumference, so the fuselage does not flex. It needs a major repair though which is the annoying bit, and there's no access at the moment. Focusing on other projects right now, my club has just got a new field after about 2 years so enjoying some stuff more for that than the slope.
  2. Cheers guys, I was thinking of something like the link, the pictures are useful with the text though so thanks for the link. Not sure when I'll get round to it, if I have any problems I'll report back
  3. Could anyone recommend a way to mend a typhoon fuselage? vertical fracture most of the way round one side of the fuselage just behind the wing. There's very little access internally here, but I really don't want to leave the exterior looking terrible. Any suggestions?
  4. question should definitely read which rolling circuit direction do you tend to fly
  5. The poll is a bit odd. I don't think anyone can prop hang a trainer unless they've done some pointless modifications to it to make it fly 3D. As I do a lot of test flights for other people now, I put that. Surely, the phrase 'I'm the one' though exists only in the ego-crazy heads of people who think they're above 'master'
  6. this is a thread for anything right?apologies if this is a little cheeky, but if you're a top guy and have a facebook account, any likes on my post at www.facebook.com/happytuesdays/posts/264851653536735 would be much appreciated
  7. finally got this flying much better than with the 46 size ic engine and getting at least 10 mins duration from the first pack. Was taking things relatively easy for first flight as i'm going to add a bit more reinforcement around the battery bay i've made in the upper front section. however, it will prop hang for extended periods which it never did with the ic engine. altogether another great electric model!       Also snapped my dad's 30e size yt zlin 50 which flies very nicely
  8. 53...   ...this guy is a badman slope racer surely
  9. Seem to remember a jp moderately aerobatic model called 'cleverboy' i mean what were they thinking there?! Thats a bit like painting a lotus elise pink with yellow flowers
  10. 190A = sweet. only thing is i'm already building the BT one (search watch out spitfires!) so won't build this despite it being my fav plane. Hopefully there will be more 190 fans soon due to this which is great   If there's a pick a plane next year there has to be some kind of a campaign for a really interesting type, so many people just post: spitfire, mustang, me109 or the like. They are popular, but it would be great to agree on something really interesting next time
  11. SWEET.   please get some flying pics when you're done
  12. there's no need to overcomplicate turns on models that just need the right stick (mode 2) for turns. just use that smoothly and it will turn fine. rudder comes later on for aerobatics
  13. Posted by Bravedan on 05/01/2011 18:11:08: One of the site pics show it with a different wing, no flared up tips...............  ermmm nope  its just the angle, makes it look like that
  14. looks almost identical to the multiplex merlin. if it is a merlin clone it should fly quite well as the merlin looks ok in flight.
  15. Posted by Ian Jones on 01/01/2011 15:05:19: My recollection is that the pilot (Gordon Nichols) became disorientated and as a result ended up with the aircraft in a downwind low speed turn with more roll than the B52 could recover from, it stalled and could not be recovered.     A pilot flying that large and expensive a model in a straight line should never become disorientated  all forms of disorientation should be sorted at the learning stage of flying. the other forum link says he's competant, but clearly he's not competant enough.
  16. yes that must be it, but i hadn't actually seen the video before, just heard about it. if the pilot says he's responsible then he must be, whether by pilot error or insufficient radio backup. i would think it extremely unlikely that a model like this would have all the batteries and receivers fail within the first circuit. there doesn't seem to be any problem until the roll to the left which must be down to the pilot. if he was unhappy with the ailerons he is even more to blame as that looks like a public event. basically; great model, extremely poor everything else
