  1. Hi Guys, thanks for all the useful info. I have finally got it to work perfectly and up to date at long last, for anyone else that DOES get a problem this is how I eventually fixed it. I copied it from another computer running Windows XP which is in my hangar and then downloaded it onto my Windows 10 laptop in my office, but I noticed that on the XP machine the files were in a folder called "Program Files" but on windows 10 it kept trying to put them into a file called Program files (86), obviously something entirely different????, once the programme was inserted into the correct place all is now fine, Regards John
  2. Thanks guys for the above info, I have tried to just install Directx 9 but the system won't let me it says that there is a later Direct X already loaded etc, which doesn't help, I just tried to download Directx9 from the microsoft website but the same thing happened, in fact it told me that I had to be running a different OS ( an earlier version) to be able to download 9, so no luck there either. I would like to have this working properly especially during the winter when its too wet, windy or cold to be out flying. I don't have enough knowledge to be able to run this laptop in various partitions which is probably the answer ?? I like on the Isle of Wight, and am a Pensioner, so can anyone pleade help???? Regards
  3. My copy of Phoenix Simulator WAS working fine and up to date on Windows 8.1, but since upgrading to Windows 10 I am having no luck at all. I have tried to re-install the Sim a number of times now with the same results each time, when I click on the Sim icon on the desktop I get the following "Phoenix has encountered a problem "SimApplication::createWindow-window creation/attachment failed press ok and then get the following No Window created Press ok and then get the following SimRenderer_createDevice-no window for attachment I tried looking on the web for some answers and found a sight that mentioned the fault was because windows 10 uses DirectX11 and not DirectX9 as required by the Sim, but this was downloaded with the Sim Disc as required on each occasion, I tried to download DirectX9 on its own but was then unable to find out where to place it as a working file, I have checked that DirectX9 is infact on the computer in the files section??? The Sim worked perfectly when using Windows 8.1 so is it a problem with windows 10 or is it something to do with the Sim, I have tried to contact Phoenix with this problem but so far I have been unable to do so. I hope there is someone far more knowledgeable than me that can help out with this problem please
  4. Thanks for the input, very helpful indeed. Has anyone else got further advice or help please??
  5. has anyone done a comparison of the Black horse AT6 Harvard (72" wingspan) and the Seagull AT6 Harvard (70.9" Wingspan)??, how does each Manufacturer stack up against the other? Am looking to put a .91-1.20 4 Stroke in it with Electrical retracts to replace the mechanical ones. Any comments greatly appreciated as have only recently returned to this fantastic hobby after a 22 year rest so don't reeally know very much about ARTF or these Manufacturers, and having now got myself back up to a good standard with the Wot 4 and Acro Wot am now ready to move on and really fancy an AT6 for the club Scale competition
