  1. Well ,the maiden went very well .I used the 18x10 and after a 3minute flight landed and checked battery consumption . I had over 60% left. So second flight on new battery was 6mins and still30% left so more than happy at the moment. Verticals weren't fantastic but on this set up more than adequate for a reasonable flight and well capable of a few routines . Thanks to everyone for their advice .😊
  2. Thanks Gordon ,That is a very comprehensive explanation .I think I'll try the 18x 10 first and after a short flight check the battery consumption. If things are not as I would like it's probably better to change the motor than invest in a number of 4 cell batteries. Hopefully things will work out well.
  3. Thanks Dick , you have been very helpful on this and it's very much appreciated along with all of the above comments and advice . I hope to maiden at the weekend so will let you know the result. Thanks again to you all .
  4. Thanks everyone for your help with this one .I am going to try my 17 x 10 and then 18x10 and go from there . Yes Dick the motor is 380kv . I did some more tests this morning and here are the results . 17x8 E prop 991 Watts 43 amps .......17x 10 prop1180 Watts 52 amps ......18 x 10 E prop 1526 watts 65 amps .

  6. Thanks John , That is good to know ?The readings on my watt meter show 64 /65 amps 1400 watts . The motor or ESC doesn't get hot altho 'because I am running on the ground and am not doing this for long is a not a true reflection of what will happen in the air. I guess I will have to see if the set up is capable . Many thanks Linda
  7. Thanks Tim,What prop do you suggest I try ? The reason I want to stick with 6 s is that I am using them on my other models and have plenty. The manufacturer recommended 6 s on the Sequence with the Rimfire 120 but this is now discontinued so I went for as close a match as I could get .
  8. Wonder if anyone can help here. I have the NTM propdrive 5060 with a 100 ESC and using a 6 cell 5000 30 c batteries. This is on the Great planes Sequence . I am unable to get more than 1000 watts unless I use an 18 x 10 propeller which gives 1400 watts .I am unsure about this as . The recommended for this motor is 17x8 or 17x10 . I have been told than I am over propping . I have not maidened the plane yet and do not want to fry anything . Can anyone give me some help .
  9. Thanks Chris for the info , will see how things work out with the 6 cell and if not sufficient power will go up to 8 cell. Best regards Linda
  10. Thanks Cymaz ,I See both reviews used the Rimfire set up. I was just wondering if anyone has one and has used a different set up. Thanks for your link Chris , In the Sequence reviews and manual it uses the 6cell for battery power . I have these batteries already for my other models so want to keep the set up similar. What esc would you recommend for your motor ??
  11. Anyone got the Great Planes Sequence ??? I want to use the 6 cell 5000 batteries as I have them already .The recommended motor is the Rimfire 120 .Does anyone have any experience with this one or can anyone suggest an alternative set up to this ?
  12. Well done to you all .The NPOD 's are definitely great for anyone wanting to get into competition flying and are a great learning experience. I myself learned so much from my day a few years back and I hope Peter continues to run them .
  13. Thanks Peter for the pictures .It was a great day and as usual all your hard work paid off . The pilots did extremely well in those crosswinds.
  14. I have set the plane up with all of the recommended motor ,esc ,,,,etc and note that the recommended position for the esc is underneath the battery tray in the fuse but I am worried about ventilation ....anyone else had this worry and if so how did you overcome it...
  15. Hi everyone, I am new to this forum but I have to say I had a brilliant day at the Newmarket NPOD organised by Peter Jenkins . My first thoughts on submitting my name forward for tuition and then a competition at the end of the day was "Oh my god what have I done " forget that immediately was my reaction when I arrived at the site .everyone made you feel so relaxed and so welcome. The day consisted of a few rounds of tuition with top aerobatic pilots followed by a competition. i have learned so much from my one day. Don't fly too fast ,plenty of straight lines ,relax ,listen carefully and just enjoy after all that is what it is all about. i was ecstatic when I came fourth and I hope to follow on by gaining my B certificate and then maybe entering a competition in the future as I think that is the way forward ...for me ..I love it.. i would urge anyone to have a go as you come away with so much more knowledge and have loads of fun too. thanks to my mentor of the day Gary Peacock and to everyone who made the day just brilliant.
