  1. Smashed Lost Or Pulverised Eventually But addictive too. Welcome to the amazing world of Slope soaring Mark.
  2. Hi Phil. The stuff that you and the rest of the mode zero guys do is great to follow. Having come to radio modelling in the 1970s with a set of Skyleader Clubman that currently resides in an Impala that is older than the gear, it’s good to see the old gear being given a new lease of life.
  3. https://outerzone.co.uk/search/results.asp?keyword=Stan+yeo Stan has made many of his "Mk 1" plans available on Outerzone. They are mostly sports slope soarers with the odd power model. I have built and flown the Sierra, Carrera, Esprit and Apollo. They are all excellent models.
  4. I will third that advice. BMFA country membership is what you need.
  5. Need a bit more context.
  6. Buy quality, buy once. As a bonus you will get years of trouble free use. Buy cheap and you will regret it until you throw it away and buy as above. Save yourself some money and buy the best you can.
  7. You may not get it on an F3f course. Span: 157” (4.0M) Length: 67.3” (1.710M) Wing Area 1,182 Sq.” (76.3 Dm/2) These are some of the specs from the Hyperflight website here in the U.K. It would appear to have to much wing area to be legal.
  8. If you had left the servo arm at 90 degrees to the pushrod and installed the servo as the designer seems to have intended, would the offset on the elevator pushrod/hinge not have given you more down than up movement as required. I would not be keen to be the first to jump to Doc Hammond’s defence but in this particular case,,,,
  9. Mike Ridley is your go to man. He helped me out with that exact issue several years ago. The MC24 is arguably one of the best Txs ever made and well worth repairing. I wouldn't want be without mine.
  10. There is also a huge amount of info there on how to use open tx and edge tx. Very useful resource. Mike is also a top bloke and pilot.
  11. Mike Shellim at rcsoar.com has created some excellent templates for flying wings and various gliders. There is one for the easyglider power and one for F5j and another for F3f. These are free to download and also come with comprehensive written instructions on how to set them up.
  12. Here is an example of one of the joys of Slope soaring. Whitesheet last Saturday afternoon. PMP Eppisoar and buzzard. With thanks to Claire for the picture.
  13. No need to apologise. Quality bears repetition.
  14. Two servos and two channels will also offer the chance to adjust the aileron differential.
  15. You have such massive and rewarding journey ahead of you.
  16. Nice job John. A couple of, hopefully constructive, oservations. Silver is a notoriously difficult colour to see in the air. More orange trim on the wing tip tops and the fuselage will help. When you do fly it I imagine that trimming the elevator is going to be interesting with the two bends in the bowden cable and the raked back horn position that will give much more up than down elevator movement. You could cure the unequal elevator movement, if it is an issue, by raking the servo arm aft and re centering the elevator. If the backlash in the bowden cable proves to be excessive, I would suggest a mini or micro servo in the top of the fin with a short push rod to the elevator. Club finder on the BMFA website is your friend. You may find that your nearest slope flying club is at Whitesheet in Wiltshire. There is certainly plenty of expertise at the club to help.
  17. Minor issue with pitcherons is they can be difficult to slow down for landings. Nice looking plane, have fun.
  18. If it is used/second hand are customs and import duties applicable?
  19. They walk amongst us. Scary is that they vote amongst us. Scarier still is that they drive amongst us too.
