  1. Hi Pat, pleased to hear that it's not prostate cancer as such.

I know that new procedures are being introduced all the time, just misunderstood the purpose of HoLEP . Hope all goes well.

  2. Prior to having a Prostatectomy some 5 years ago I was given detailed pros and cons by a Consultant Surgeon and Consultant Radiologist both specialising in treatment of Prostate cancer. The deciding factors for me choosing surgery over radiotherapy were the lengthy process of radiology plus hormone treatment and the consequent exclusion of surgery should further treatment be necessary. I'm not familiar with HoLEP treatment, but would suggest that you ascertain whether it might have an impact on any further treatment should it be required.

Wishing you well whatever you choose.

  3. It's for battery protection. Controls charge and discharge current. Without it you run the risk of the iX12 onboard charger overcharging the cells. It does appear that all Spektrum iX12 batteries have the 2017 date on irrespective of when they were made/sold.

This data sheet might help: RS 7.8Ah LiPo Battery. This battery should fit the iX12.

  4. The ESC probably needs calibrating.

    Disconnect plane battery. Remove propellor.

Turn on transmitter, put throttle to maximum.

Connect plane battery. ESC should beep then stop.

Put throttle to minimum. ESC should beep and stop.

Now you should have throttle control. If so, disconnect battery and replace prop.

    Hope that helps.

  5. Your computer doesn't need to open the *.saw files. Go to Spektrumrc.com, login, open "my devices" click on your transmitter and download the update files. Copy the file/s to your SD card (micro chip?) as downloaded, then put the SD card into your Transmitter, turn on transmitter and it should automatically update the software. There is a manual update process which also requires the downloaded files on the SD card. I'm presuming your transmitter is registered with Spektrum, as the update files are specific to your transmitter serial number only.

  6. Bitdefender for me, used it for quite a few years now, easy to use and has useful add on features. Introductory offer available now £30 for first year for 3 devices, also Which Best Buy. Previously had a Bitdefender Box, which goes between your router and home network to provide cover for all connected devices, not just PCs, Laptops etc - very effective if you have a lot of devices at home. Netgear now offer Bitdefender integrated into their routers and mesh devices, giving similar protection to the Bitdefender Box.

Yes we hired two Bomag 120s and they did a good job. Plenty of help to have a go on the big boys toys ?

Ok, so we're not trying to create a super flat sports field, but I would still be wary of (over) using vibrating rollers etc. Over compacted areas may not drain properly and cause more problems. Just meant as a word of caution.

  8. Wacker plates are compaction, not levelling  devices. Compacted soil will not drain properly causing problems later. If the subsoil and topsoil are not level, compacting with a roller, plate etc will only create hard poorly draining patches. Liberal,  regular use of a larger light roller stands a better chance of achieving a "smooth" surface. Have you ever seen a Bomag type roller used on a Football, Rugby or playing field? There's a good reason.
