We will lose
The Kart Club have said if we fly over the race track while they are racing. They will contact the farmer who owns our field and the farmer has already said if that happens .We are history .So these selfish members are going to lose us the field .It is a no win situation for the committee
And check the terms of your lease/license.

Pending BMFA response and subject to what your constitution says, I think you will find that the properly elected officers are responsible.

Would Schrodinger's cat get run over then?

Interesting nobody seems to have mentioned LiIon which Jeti put in Txs and suggest/recommend for Rxs too. What's their downside?

Bind the outside of the CF tube, put a tap through it, epoxy in and put heatshrink over to protect the binding. Beware the dust.
If you source sensible reverse thread studding which isn’t Chinese putty, please do share with us.

Cataracts are like car brakes. Failure tends to be slowly progressive and it’s usually a new driver who identifies that not all is well. The difference post repair is usually stark.

Several club mates are routinely coating with water based polyurethane when new and the grass strip, sheep and worm casts wipe off almost effortlessly. Ice cream tubs often have a nice radius at each end to cut up and bolt on u/c legs as mudguards.

Cannard!
I’m fairly sure that I read somewhere that this individual (about whom I know zilch else) has elected to become a “they/them”. Does that mean that the op has misgendered them? If so will the op have to be cancelled, along with every other forumite who quoted it, thought about laughing or actually laughed out loud? Doesn’t the latter constitute hate crime, which ought to be reported by the moderators to the thought police for investigation? Given that the forum was the medium for this appalling gender-critical episode, can we expect it to be shut down forthwith?
Just asking.

Three at Buckminster, one at Retford from memory. The consensus is to pick fairly central locations as the members are well spread out but still make the effort to attend.

Forgot to say, and for those who cant read the stickers or notice them... Dave Smith Excelsior 150..
Undercart moved out of wings to just in front of the leading edge on the fus.. better on grass strips.
I do find models from this era tend to fly very very well indeed, as they had to be designed for that. Once the ARTF Extra, Yak's edges etc came in, they kind of took over, but if you get a chance to build something from back in the day, I have found they are really nice to fly and are improved even more by modern radio, materials and power plants, leading to lighter AUW.. etc..
Big difference between a modern 3D, Extras et al and classic F3As, isn't there? Your small Excelsior is the first I flew, bought in club auction purely for its Saito NIB engine which was soon upgraded to a 100. Persuaded to fly it anyway, it's a revelation in comparison with aforesaid 3D. Track very straight and largely docile, but capable of accurate classic schedules (not by me, obvs). Have a 188/Yamada waiting to pluck up the courage when the strip is drier.
You a UKCAA member? If not, you ought to be as you clearly have the same genetic deficiency as the rest of us. BTW I have Extras, Yaks etc and a Sebart Angel also awaiting maiden but if I had to pick it would be an F3A.

These all look so great!
It would be very good if RCM&E would republish all of these (and others) preferably with plans and preferably suitably modified for electric.
Lots of these resources are available via the UK Classic Aerobatic Association. If this piques your interest it is well worth a look, and welcomes new members.

Jim,
If these are going in the same plane as the YS 140, get something high end, Savox eg, because it will be big, as Peter J has said, and it will vibrate.

Cyano. Blasted autospeel.

It’s possible to tap the inside of carbon tube, to a degree, and it certainly improves adhesion with epoxy even though there’s insufficient thread to rely on it alone.
Warnings: beware the dust
Bind the outside of the tube before tapping (Kevlar thread is excellent, from fly tying suppliers) to avoid splitting it
Heatshrink might do it but is better over the Kevlar to keep it intact
Probably coat the Kevlar with cyanogen in any event.

Thank you Brian.
All I can say is that there are three types of aeromodellers; those who can count, and those who can't.

A 5-min tank plus a margin, assuming it flies at 40 mph. T 180 might be slower, as I recall. Interesting keeping up with it however.

Tucked (?) them in what, Graham?

Did you cover their modesty? Frightened of what the mods might do?
Who is legally responsible in a model flying club ?
in Incident Reports
Posted
I believe there should be a distinction between the behaviour of individuals and the responsibility of the club. The legislation is clearly set out in terms of proximity etc and overflying karts may well leave the individual pilots outside the law; the club, on the other hand, has a degree of collective responsibility under the common law, probably the lease and BMFA requirements. That is why I consider that collective responsibility will rest with the elected officers of the club. It might be able to deflect some liability onto individual pilots but it won't be able avoid it entirely unless it acts in a timely and proportionate manner, in accordance with its constitution.
