  1. It looks intriguing and looks great in the air, such a shame that after so much effort, was a disappointment in the air.If the flight characteristics could eventually be sorted, would it be possible to fly it off water?
  2. Just an off the wall idea, something like a Veron big Impala,Flair Heron or Sorcerer if you can get them. All flew well and very easy to build and fly. May be worth looking on fleebay or forums.
  3. It’s a brilliant looking Stuka and the Mossie looks like a lot of fun too. Bulldog is tremendous and really well finished. I used to have a P38 Lightning finished in solafilm chrome, loved flying it until it got nicked.Eric, I know you have a superb Sunderland, ever thought about a Walrus or anyone else doing one?Just a crazy thought.
  4. Glad I’ve got the full fat version! I didn’t realise that aero tech produced so many different types of models. There must be loads still out there in shed’s and lofts maybe forgotten or unbuilt.Andy, you should try and finish the wellie so we could fly both yours and mine together!Would be an interesting sight to see. Some interesting non warbirds in the catalog, anybody got one?
  5. Cheers Leccy,l didn’t realise that but having looked at that, it made me think that do I have to profile fw190?
  6. Hi leccy, think the seller may have it wrong?the picture on the box looks to me to be a p51 Mustang?Reasonable price for a profile?
  7. Are you considering building all three of them sometime in the future Martin?Eric,do you plan on building the mossie sometime as I know that you seem to prefer depron equivalent builds, brilliant ones at that. There must be a lot of unstarted Aerotech kits out there!Makes you wonder if their reputation has put people off?
  8. Hi Eric, didn’t know that they had been around that long. Were they a British manufacturer? The p38,what span was it? The wellington does look good.
  9. Have checked out the wings and thankfully there appears to be no sign of veneer lifting or separating. Rest of the components appear to be in good order.Do you have any idea when Aerotechfirst started production of kits?Cannot find anything at all online for build or flying of the 190!surprising.
  10. I see what you mean about some of the parts fit in the build log,A lot of fettling to get it right. I do hope I’ve not got as many problems when I get round to assembly of the Fw190.By all accounts they seem to fly well and I m glad you enjoy flying your Mossie.
  11. Apologies, the second mention of Tom should have been to you Martin!
  12. Tom,What was the build like for the Mossy?Tom,intersted to know what kits you have and glad to know that they fly well.I will try to do a build log when I finally get round to building it.Leccy, didn’t know that they did profile models but glad to hear that you enjoyed them.At the moment I have a few health problems so will have to finish off my 96in Sunderland first and then start the fw190 build after that.Has anyone built the Lancaster or B17 kits?
  13. Hi cuban8,I’ve searched for a while on internet but can’t find any info or reference to the Aerotech fw190.Wings feel very light with foam and obechi veneer.the rest of the components look to be light, good quality balsa but only time will tell and my heavy hand lol.
  14. I have a unstarted kit that I’ve had for a few years and was wondering if anyone has ever built and flown one ?It would be for conversion to electric and Pss.Were Aerotech models any good.Lancaster,B17 and Spitfire were in their inventory and other models.Just wondering if it’s worth doing a summer build as it’s meant to be a quick build.
  15. Just been looking at emax servos.I’ve used them before on a couple of models,OV 10 Bronco for one and found them excellent.I found that the link is very helpful as it goes on to a step by step building guide. The Guy did have to enlarge the wing cutouts to accommodate servos.Thank you so much for the advice.
  16. Hi Matty. Just gone through all my servos, hitec, corona, futaba, some others, even parkzone and none will fit so it looks like I’ll have to enlarge the holes and make new cover plates!A bit of a pain on a new kit but hay ho if that’s what I have to do I’m going to reinforce most of the fuselage with carbon fibre.many thanks for everybody’s input.Has anyone actually built and flown one of these?how do they fly?
  17. Hi Matty,I’m just going to have a look through my servo box as I have some hitec hs125s wing servos that I’ve had knocking about for some time.Got them for a Pat Teakle a asw17 that I no longer have and they were recommended for that model at the time.Trying to keep the cost down to pensioners rates lol.
  18. The Kingmax servos look the biz!but I must admit I’ve never heard of them before. I usually use hitec metal geared servos in most of my models, mostly pss. I have a fly fly Condor that I’ve had to reinforce the tail end with carbon fibre. Objected to my landings on a couple of occasions. Many thanks for all your thoughts, very enlightening.
  19. Could probably manage to fit one in like that if I can insert it on a removable plate.will have to have a good look for small sized wing servos.many thanks for the idea Dick.
  20. Hi Dickw, sizes are:30x25x18mm without flanges and 20x15x18mm between flanges.Looking at the Hyperflight servo sizes, may have to butcher a little to fit them. Many thanks for your help in looking for the right servos.
  21. A couple of years ago I bought the Dg808 kit but never got around to assembling it.Looking at the wings,I’ve tried to locate appropriate high torque servos to fit in the cutouts but to no avail.Has anyone built this model and what servos have been used? I presume I’m going to have to enlarge the cutouts for even a high torque servo such as a hitec hs85.All comments appreciated.
  22. You could also use 2 sheets of 1/64 ply laminated over the deck formers.
  23. The decks were carved out of a blue foam block, hollowed out to keep the weight down and then covered with solafilm with a low to medium heat iron
  24. Many thanks Eric, will try it out when I get to the finishing stage.could be a while yet.
  25. Absolutely brilliant!Mine will have hopefully, two wings built, one for power and one for PSs .One question I have is, what colour would you do the panel lines on the fuselage?cheers
