  1. Hi Mike,The model is covered in silver solafilm and then flattened down with wet and dry, then painted with humbrol acrylics.refuelling conduit’s are from fuel tubing cut in half and then cyno in place.cheers chris.
  2. Hi Mike,The a37 Dragonfly that I’ve built is 54 inch span and weighs in at 4lb12 0unce with an sd205 wing section and 11/2 degrees washout.I’ve had to modify the original plan substantially to change it from a one piece model to a two piece transportable fuselage and wing. The colour scheme is actually taken from the photo that you have. I’ve made a mould for the canopy and blown it on my own homemade vac former. It runs on 4 mini servos,2 for ailerons,1 rudder and 1 elevator.hope this is of some help.Chris
  3. Cessna A37 Dragonfly (tweet).Just finished my Pss A37 ready for test flying at the Great Orme October do.Upscaled from the 36 inch Paul Sampson plan from the 90’s to 54 inch so in a way scratch built, having to change model from a one piece to two piece.Canopy is home blown and armaments removable.
  4. I am in France at the moment near St Etienne on a touring holiday so I checked out the French FFam website for a local club. Found one and went there yesterday to sound out any possibility to fly and met the club chairman at their field.Showed him my BMFA,CAA and club card and he could not be more welcoming and agreed to let me fly with them this coming Saturday. This is about the fourth holiday in France i've had have always been welcomed by the local clubs.
  5. Had this one for quite a few years.good piece of kit but don’t know if they are still produced.
  6. So surprised that anyone remembered my Ju88 after all these years! Then it was powered by two speed 600 motors and nicads and it's still set up to fly both as electric or pss but now mainly as pss. It's now nearly 28 years old and still gives a lot of fun but the canopy now could do with replacing. Thanks for the video,I never knew it existed after all these years!Hear's a couple of brilliant photos taken by patmac in it's present Sicilian camo colors at my local cliff soaring site.
  7. Just seen this highly interesting build article for the kit build for the Ju88.I have an old electric/pss 72” one but could do with the canopy renewing.Would anyone know if it’s possible to buy a spare bomber canopy to fit?my original mould has seen better days!many thanks
  8. Have you considered the Bronco in the first Desert Storm colours?Ive just finished an o/d 60in version for electric and pss.it weighs in at 7.5lbs in glider version but could be built lighter.Look at the pssa website for flying shots.
  9. Booked in for that weekend weather permitting!Looking forward to seeing everyone then.Got a few test flights to do!
  10. Just finished the latest lockdown project,Rockwell OV10 Bronco scratch built.60in span for electric and Pss.Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post it in.

  14. Very good display Mike and so glad it received interest from passers by and hopefully stirred a few thoughts as to what the day was about.Mossie looks great and so do the spit and hurricane, bet they fly well. Brian, glad that your spit proved of interest to your street party goers, looks a brilliant model and bet it flys a treat.
  15. Just taking some time out to give a small tribute and reflect on the golden generation who flew in WW2. The aircraft they flew and the rapid technical innovations that came about that we, as modellers, now imitate and thoroughly enjoy and fly. How many of us have taken inspiration to build warbirds and take them along to the flying field and hopefully fly them, possibly with trepidation and then joy for the maiden flight? When this lockdown finely comes to a end and we can all get down to the flying sites again, maybe those who have warbirds could do a flight and tip a wing in salute and maybe have a thought for those who flew in anger. It would be great to hear opinions and photos of everyone who might wish to tip a wing when we can. This is my own small contribution to VE Day, what would yours be? First time on this forum so apologies if anything does not look right. Chris
  16. Just finished the refurb and rebuild of two Pss Lancasters M Mike and L Leather in the livery of 617 squadron. Both models were donated to me last year, M Mike in need of a new nose up to the central spar and wings and engine nacels on starboard wing re-attaching after wing joiner decided to fail in flight! New alloy and ramin wing joiner made. L Leather had a severe case of lifting wing veneer after possibly been stored in damp conditions so a lot of time was spent re-attaching same and a full repaint was undertaken.M Mike was built and flown by Ian Moody and L Leather built but not yet flown by Chris Leslie so like everyone else, now waiting for the lockdown to end so we can head for the hills and test fly.Next project on the board is rebuilding my OV 10 Bronco as electric and pss. Chris
  17. Just refurbed my XB70 Valkerie pss and like everyone else cannot wait to test fly.
