  1. The show needs a better commentator. The "Bear (?)" is far too trying, arrogrant, annoying, egotistical, irritating and pushy! He spoils the show. Dave Bishop does a far better job!
  2. I have an unused boxed 3s version and the thrust vectoring unit , I think it is linked to ailerons, rudder?
  3. The GWS prop seems very brittle, breaks in storage. You only have to knock it and it breaks.
  4. Can anyone suggest an alternative replacement for a GWS 4 x 2.5 propeller? Thank you.
  5. I always found Whitchurch models to be very competitive on price! Martin was very enthusiastic about having a larger premises but the pandemic has changed that.
  6. It was sad to hear that Whitchurch Models that closed, Martin was very helpful and had a good assortment of items to purchase. I shall miss the shop a great deal as it was very handy for me. I walked pass the other day and it didn't look right, rather like a building that you pass by on a regular basis then it gets demolished. Trawling the internet for hours and shopping online isn't the same as walking into a shop. I wish Martin,Susan and Jasper well for the future!
  7. I have drill bits with sand paper, oxide paper and wet/dry paper glued to them,
  8. Thanks Cuban8, I use a similar method which consist of tracing the profiles from the plan to the actual piece of balsa. Then I make up cardboard templates which I use to help get the shape I require. As for sanding tools I use various objects and various blocks of wood including lollipop sticks and wooden coffee stirrers. One of my favourite objects for sanding at the moment is a Zap superglue bottle.
  9. Can anyone give me any tips to make the tail fillet for the TN Mig 15? I wasn't happy with the first attempt, didn't look correct. It broke on removal and making a second this afternoon which may not work out? Thank you. Edited By Adrian Norris 1 on 08/05/2020 11:50:11
  10. I've had a few problems, COG,prop breaking on landing, always tips forward. I have now fitted a prop saver but need a better propeller than the GWS 4 x 2.5, any suggestions? The fuselage is a bit narrow and space is limited for the electrics, other than that it has plenty of go and turns quite tightly. Edited By Adrian Norris 1 on 01/04/2020 11:16:50
  11. You can also use heat(covering iron) on the water to "steam" the hole or dent out.
  12. Try a dab of water! Swells the wood, let it dry and then sand it. I could be wrong, pushing a pin through balsa compresses the fibres around the pin.
  13. I’m looking for a cheap brushless motor for a 33” 530g, 6x4/6x5 prop low wing model. Original used a speed 400 brushed motor. I have the following in brushless motors in stock, not sure what I bought them for or if I could use them - Park 450 2250kv 300 2212 980kv 2836/9 950 Kv 2212/13T 1000KV
  14. There should be a Tornado,Jaguar,Meteor and Buccaneer to finish the series.
  15. Update. The drone has returned today, I wasn’t around and the operator was approached. He said the drone was new to him and he couldn’t keep it within its boundary. He is supposingly a commercial operator, based in Warwickshire. Thats all I know.
  16. Posted by Stephen Smith 14 on 06/06/2019 19:25:47: The origanal question was about being photographed, I'm not sticking up for idiots but what's the concern about photography, I regularly use a camera and get people I don't know in photos and not one person has ever been bothered. Millions of people have camaras phones and take millions of photos often of strangers but no one complains about that, and before you say there invading your privacy take a look on Google earth where you can look in everyone's garden. Is it the camaras or is it the multirotor (not calling them drones don't want to sound like the BBC) you are bothered about? A good friend of mine who was once a professional freelance photographer, he drummed it into me not to photograph strangers unless I had their permission and something in writing such as a model release form due to possibly being sued. People today are far too relaxed over filming or photographing strangers. Also consideration of children must be taken into account. A few years ago at Christmas I visited the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway with the intentions of doing some photography. One of the volunteers told me that I couldn’t take any photographs as there were far two many children around and they didn’t allow it. I have learned that in was a professional company imaging a crop. I don’t particularly want to report it but I think that’s what I will be doing as it wasn’t just one single invasion it was possibly six times within forty minute period, not just by accident.

Funny that you should say that. The EU and UK government are currently changing the law to bring in mandatory training and remote identification in order to protect the public. Steve That's for future and not now!
  18. What can be done if a camera drone invades your privacy? What happens if you report it to the police? As I see it the law seems to be in favour of the drone pilot! There really needs to be some sort legal protection for the general public and private property.
  19. Is the Newport and District Flying Club still going? Thank you.
