As said, no way will you get a 2 stroke petrol down to 82dB, I have a couple of old lasers, I put a couple of % of castor in all my fuel, to protect them, and as with any 4 stroke you can always add on another silencer, even an aluminium tube with wire wool in it, to silence and deflect the oil.

You have missed the point, that's what the forum is for, seeking advice.

Nooooooooo. Toto has already had bad experiences with ic - the last thing he needs us to bolt his unfamiliar engine to a bench, and 'see how he gets on'. He has no real experience of starting, running in, or adjusting such an engine. And, in fact, is a way off being able to fly the model in question
It's called 'learning experience', how did we get from caves to houses ?.

It might be worth taking the head off and measuring the swept volume.

I use 'Canopy glue' (google it ) as in some artf planes there is only 2mm balsa to screw into, it will stick any canopy to any film.

The benefits of regulating the carburettor are easier starting and a more consistent idle.
You don't have to do it,.
Nice toys, get them on the bench and see how you get on, but firstly, take a photo of the needle valve positions so that you know where the factory set them before you fiddle with them, they are VERY sensitive.

Can't you recuperate the old plug and solder it on a new pack, or get a pack with a Bec plug, only be careful not to put it the wrong way around in the radio.

Google Walbro pop up for a video on it, here in psi ( 1 Bar),,

Are you going to regulate the 'popup' pressure in the carbs ?.

Does the pilot's canopy fit ? Mine was too small.

Do not expect the measure to be exact, manufacturing variance
It could also be over weight if it has been running on castor oil, adding another 10 grams to it.😂

Maybe someone could post a table with the owner's initials stamped on the engine with a list of what cc and
dates that they were supplied, it would help the never ending lists of 'what have I got "?.🤢

A dream to fly with 2 Saito .45 Specials, 8 years old now.

Good luck with the locktite, it won't work, I have a couple of old motors with the same problem, one I drilled the exhaust port a little deeper and deepened the thread, now it is ok, another I have used the older technique that Rossi used for their piped 2 strokes, a steel ring with a spring around the cylinder head.

OK, so not so bad I thought but still a lot more expensive from UK sources. Mind you not as bad as cigarettes - a neighbour told me yesterday that they're £16 for 20! Glad I gave up decades ago 👍
How do you get the cigarettes into the glow plug hole ?.

Has anyone built or flown this kit?
https://www.pegasusmodels.co.uk/product.asp?prodid=994294
A club mate is just finishing one amd is interested in real-life flying experience of the kit.... he's asked F***b*** but I don't expect he'll get many sensible responses.
What weight did it end up at?
What CofG did it end up at?
How did it fly?
TIA, GG
Looks like a nice cheap kit to replace my fading Hurricane, but with Brixit,,,🤢

Pinking is pre-ignition too hot and or mix to lean on petrol engines.

I have had 2 of the RCV .58's, both ran hot, both less powerful than an OS.48fs, high idle and doesn't like Castor oil,
the best running I got out of it was with 10% nitro and 12% synthetic oil, os F plug and I did make a finned head from an Irvine .53 to cool it down better, and also put another rubbish carburettor on it which gave me a better idle, "however", it never packed up in the air on me.
