Forum members' new models: Let's see them.
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Paul Marsh's topic in All Things Model Flying
Nice, it does look aggressive all it needs is the pounding heart of a four stroke,,,😇 -
Come on matty use your common sense, 1, a howling IC engine is warning enough, 2, the kickbacks when starting teaches you their danger, 3, a beginner might only have a basic radio, so throttle lock might not be there 4,, he probably hasn't read the chinglese instructions, let alone understood them, 5, how many times have you seen someone lean over the prop to plug or unplug the battery, Don't be silly, IC is dangerous and electric is the best and safest way to start, but under guidance !!!!! In 50 years of modelling I have NEVER had methanol or petrol catch fire, but 2 battery's, one on the model field and one in my garage, I wasn't certain of anything, only surmising, as he has been flying electrics much more than me, and as I had never seen his set-up I was only guessing,,, I know how it feels to flog a dead horse now,,,,🤐 Better things to do,,, Here is one for my sceptic disbelievers, the second time that one of the wires on my battery's has broken, here a 4s on my big starter, ( electrics please look away😄) a mix of 30 minute epoxy with some fine aluminium filing has done the job again.

I have no idea, he was in 'racing' mode in the French championships, and it was his turn to race, I was his 'mechanic' and just followed his orders, I only race with those smelly, noisy, smothered with caster oil planes.

RC Rechargeables - FOR FREE!
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to Bonzo Moon's topic in Modelling Money Savers...
Yes, but they are only for small currents, ie radios, Tx and Rx and glow drivers. maybe also small drones,,, -
Yes all those check-ups are good advice but 'beginners' don't do that, the number of Rc cars and those cheap twin rotor helicopters that have come into my shop with the battery still plugged in,,, We all have to start somewhere and that's what clubs are for, and no I am not perfect like some, I have arrived at the field without or with the wrong radio, on the wrong memory, especially with my T6 where you only have 4 letters on the screen to tell you what model it is, etc,,,,

So you have Never made a mistake ?, never had an accident ?, the pylon racer was an electrical fault in the plane not pilot error, the battery is installed and the wing fitted, then the radio switched on ( no names ) and to fly a "U" electrical jumper is fitted to fly, it was at that moment the motor went flat out, lucky for him, I was holding his plane tightly on the table !, in fact he was the French champion a couple of years ago, and he knows what he is doing !.

tell that to two of our club members, one that has had stitches on his fingers and the other that has a chopped up shirt and a bruised stomach when they plugged their batteries in, and the third that I was holding his electric pylon racer when it went off full chat when he turned his radio on 🤢

And elastics to make sure that your G clamps don't come undone, especially with petrol and 4 strokes.
-
And may I add to Dale's list if you are a builder you can use a heavy one to hold down your wing balsa skinning and also as a square to lean the fin on to keep it at 90°,,,

So sad to see so many crashes, I have probably seen more than 50 pulse jet flights here in France, and no crashes, they seem to manage to land them right in front of themselves.
-
Nothing like Silk and dope, but finding fuel proofer, 🤐,,,
-
"Human error", if they had proper training in the first place a lot of accidents would have been avoided,,,
-
The difference in Ic and electric Ron is the noise of the Ic is a warning to you, electric is a silent killer,,,

Are expensive Lipos worth the extra money?
Paul De Tourtoulon replied to paul devereux's topic in Beginners
Buy cheap crap, buy twice,,,,, Buy the highest that you can afford, it's no good putting a cheap tx 2s battery with a 10c rating on a plane,,, I have seen it so many times,,,🤢 -
Mine holds 3 motors,,,😄

It looks like another "what radio" thread of 50 pages and 2000 answers, he is my 'bit', get the highest rated C, they are all overexaggerated, more expensive and also heavier, from a reputable dealer, I have got through kilos ok the HK rubbish,,, DON'T get the last volt out of them, that is what kills them, get a cheap low voltage warning buzzer. opps and charge them on 1 C,,,, 49 pages to go,,,,😆 -

That nose wheel looks a bit long, is it for bouncy landings ?.😅 -
It would be nice to do a full 9 cylinder one so anyone with a single cylinder engine or electric motor could use it .
-
I couldn't find the data sheet, can you post it ?.

If you mean R3008sb non it isn't I can't find your R23008SB
