  1. I just bought a Aerostar that came with the instructions, I could scan them to pdf if anyone needs them.
  2. No the fairy liquid bottle contained the cheapest fuel I could buy, the radio was a Waltron, wish I still had it
  3. I had the Galaxy Models Escort GT, I flew it at the Aqua Nats and Leisure Lakes float plane comps.
  4. Found a old black and white picture of my simple stuntman, think its from 79 or 80.
  5. The Ridge Racer was one of my dream models in my teens but could not afford one, its very similiar to the models sold by Sailplanes International/Solent Sailplanes
  6. Thanks for everyone's help, decided to spray the body, wings covered in film
  7. Thanks tried T-Cut and Jif but no difference, will probably just leave it
  8. Could anyone help identify this glider? bought on ebay but seller did not know what it was. The body is plastic with foam wings, looks like its from the 80's and the body has faded yellow. Would like to get it back to white if anyone knows what's best to clean faded plastic. Span about 72 Inches
  9. I bought a second hand Wot 4 Foam-e and some of the applied stickers are peeling away, anyone got advice on what to use to stick them back down with? Edited By Stephen Rawsthorne 1 on 01/08/2020 18:14:12 Edited By Stephen Rawsthorne 1 on 01/08/2020 18:14:59
  10. Posted by leccyflyer on 29/06/2020 21:53:07: I did used to go to the Woodvale shows, but didn't go to the World Championships in 1978. Also used to make an annual trip to the Model Engineering Exhibition - starting in the 70's with the school aeromodelling club but later on going with a few pals. I only went to John Whites in St Helens a couple of times in the 90's - I guess that was the same shop that you are referring to? Many helicopters by the 90's. The World Champs was the best event I have ever been to, it went on for 5 days and i went every day, think I must of been about 13 at the time. Yes John Whites was the same shop, his father was Eric and you are correct it went mainly into helicopters(Vario) Did you ever goto the shop in Hindley, it was run by a young lad called Martin above his fathers fruit and veg place, very near the council buildings?

Looks like a trip to buy a Mercury Monarch control line kit and some bits, so maybe a birthday trip. It was Forshaws in Wigan too, not Forster - that was the name of my physics teacher! Hi, I thought the shop in Pemberton was Dave Claytons, it was above the news agents, is that the same shop? It was called Toni's (or Tony's) and was on the ground floor, up near the Unit Four cinema, IIRC. I don;t know who the owner was- I was just a youngster then, nut as the list shows - bus into Wigan and then a bus out to Pemberton. There's some confirmation of that online, which suggests that the shop you refer to upstairs might have been above JJBs sports? Wigan World I don't remember a shop called Toni's in Pemberton, Dave Claytons was above the news agents on the main road, the news agents is still there. I went in Forshaws alot while studying at the tech. My closes shop was Eric White at St Helens and a model shop in Bold Street Southport. Also went to Scots a few times and Roy Levers Megamodels once I think. Did you ever goto the Woodvale Show or the World Championships there in 1978? .

  13. I went to the Freeflight & Control line Nationals last year, first time I have ever been and thought it was amazing, stuff I only ever saw in the late 70/80's aeromodeller mags. I am now 56 and most were alot older than me, I thought then that this side of the hobby will go less and less. Was planning to go again but covid 19 saw the end to that.
