  1. I have found a local printer Newton Printing Services in Barton upon Humber which is only seven miles away and even better the bus stop is almost outside the shop door. They do up to A1 which I think will be large enough. I will find out when I pay them a visit which will be in the spring. The doublers are glued and dried overnight. I must be learning something as this time I made them handed without applying any glue on the wrong side. The formers have been prepared by sanding off the burnt wood along the edges. This is a very simple fuselage build and does not need a plan, just a straight centre line. On the plan the former centre lines are marked so if one is cutting the formers the line is there. On the laser cut formers the centre line has to be drawn in before using them. Next start by gluing formers 1-4 on to one side of the fuselage. More to come. Cheers Steve
  2. FF yes I will make that part of the plan. Thank you Martian encouragement is always appreciated. Cheers Steve
  3. I have glued all of the 1/16" components together to make 1/8", ribs and formers. I have glued the two halves of the fuselage sides together then I will add the ply doublers. While working on this it struck me that this would easily scale up to 50". Hmmm another project for me. Cheers Steve
  4. Tosh When you start the throttle should be at minimum. With throttle at max you are entering programing mode, is that what you want? Steve
  5. Vic Smeed Coquette thanks Chris all is now explained. Cheers Steve
  6. Received today impressed by the plans on three sheets including both wing halves. But then became a bit confused. It looks to me like it is a triplane Any ideas? Cheers Steve
  7. Piers like you I will find out today when The Ohmen is delivered. The 1/16" parts are hard balsa BTW. Now I have three builds. Is this becoming an obsession? Cheers Steve
  8. As promised both sides now have cheeks. and the carving has started. Interesting for me but the shape probably will not pass scale scrutiny. I would like perfect but will settle for TLAR. It's all good practice for the next build, that's the way I look at it. Cheers Steve
  9. I have made a start. Next is glue all the 1/16" parts that should be 1/8", 16 in total I think Cheers Steve
  10. A bit of a mess but I will sort it out. I am starting to see my way forward on this and will add the cheeks on the other side before carving the whole thing at once. This could take some time!
  11. I went to the hospital yesterday after waiting for months, like your friend. I did not want to go after sheltering in place since the end of January. In normal times the place is crowded and with one hundred chairs it is standing room only. Not now though, two thirds of the chairs were taped off but there were only three people waiting, including me. Again in normal times there is a long wait, it has been two hours for me, anyway one minute before my time I was called in to do my standard blood pressure and weight. Trying to keep it light I said to the Nurse the place is deserted and it would be easy to think there is no pandemic. She laughed and said yes many people think that but it is deserted because of the pandemic. They minimise face to face consultation placing more emphasis on the telephone. That sound good to me. Thinking about it later it is the same at the Doctors no waiting and prompt service. Text messages keep coming from the Doctors with information about how the service is affected, all routine blood tests are cancelled for example. It's all good to me well done NHS. I should have asked if they could do anything about the supply of balsa, get the RAF to fly some in for example, but then flying toys is not a priority to anyone but us. Keep safe Kevin. BTW I am a northerner also North Lincolnshire to be more exact and this has to be the most I have ever written for years. My moto is why use one word when none will do. I prefer pictures! Steve
  12. There are eight formers in this fuselage. I have ordered an Ohmen and I am hoping this is not a bad omen.
  13. Apple cheek balsa and carving started. There is a lot of balsa to remove and I am hoping that I don't end up sanding fresh air Cheers Steve
  14. This is what you get as expected in a laser cut plan pack. Plus the plans and Peters article from RCMW November 2010. I have checked and there is nothing missing. Just if you are wondering how the balsa crisis is affecting Sarik here is a note. There are no 1/8" balsa parts but they have provided twice the number in 1/16" to laminate, R3 ribs and formers. No problem. Cheers Steve
