  1. I have started the build process, I am at the planning stage. This is a plan pack and there is no additional wood pack available, so breaking new ground again on my way to building from a plan and ultimately scratch building. One step at a time is the way I work. I have started by, creating a lists of wood and equipment I need to buy, and checking what needs changing for electric power. It all looks straight forward so far. More to come on this one but I have the RF-4 to complete. Cheers Steve
  2. Thanks Guys Aeromaster looks good as do the Motor Gliders. The cowl. Apple cheeks to add then the fun part, Razor Plane time, followed by sanding. Cheers Steve
  3. The Smith Special looks interesting but I am happy with the Swizzle and can't wait to fly it It only takes eighteen hours to build from scratch and I am cheating with the plan pack so probably a month for me The article is very amusing Peter.. " This one will froth your adrenaline!" made me laugh. I hope it will prop hang. I am like a kid at Christmas Just what I need. Cheers Steve
  4. What have I bought is it a plane? No it's a 3D/Fun Fly with huge control surfaces. As you can see Sarik included the magazine article. Very interesting! Sewn hinges? I will have to go buy some needle and thread also I should have listened to my mum when she tried to teach me to sew. When I was at school girls did the sewing and the boys woodwork. How things have changed for the better. This is going to be more fun than I was expecting. Anyone want to join in? I could go the whole hog and use IC, now there is a thought Cheers Steve
  5. I am gradually adding bits of balsa. Here I am test fitting to make sure that when in place that the cowl can be removed. Good job I did because this time if I had glued it the cowl would not have come off. Near miss I think Am I the only one who has to go this long winded process? Working on the top of the cowl next. Cheers Steve
  6. Progress on the cowl. Sides glued on and bottom pinned in place. Sides trimmed along the bottom. Glued and clamped. That was not difficult Cheers Steve
  7. Posted by Mark Wilson 7 on 05/12/2020 21:42:32: Is this place always so hostile toward people who think differently to themselves? I'm not sure I want to stay if it is. Stay as there are loads of helpful people and threads here. I ignore these argumentative threads normally but was drawn here by a complaint about it to the moderators on another thread. The way to report a post or thread is use the report icon. Which I assume has been done by others and the padlock is on the way. .
  8. FF I agree. NigelS your pictures provided me with a solution thank you. Cheers Steve
  9. For my seventh build I have this being delivered on Monday. Swizzle Stick I am a fan of the Stick, this will be my sixth but smallest. Easy to build and fly, is the attraction. Should I try IC or stick with electric? I have converted a couple of others from IC to electric without any problem at all. Cheers Steve
  10. Dave, Too late I am afraid it asked me three questions which I answered wrong and I still won. There was a time limit that was counting down and I had to be quick or I would lose my chance, unfortunately by the time I took my chance my time had run out. Strangely it allowed me to continue. It's all very dodgy in my mind. What are they going to get out of this? I think at least a postage charge for a prize that will never turn up or a bigger prize for them bank details. I have asked for the link to be removed, but tried it again and it took me to a different page. Very dodgy! Be careful everyone.
  11. Here we go again but a bit more sophisticated looking. Which leads to this Too good to be true? Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 05/12/2020 10:00:34
