  1. One more step to designing models? Modifications to the undercarriage. Here are the components. The nosewheel will bolt together F1 and the added ply plate which moves the nosewheel forward 1/2". Like so, no bolts yet though. But it gives everyone the idea. I am having fun today Cheers Steve
  2. I do find design changes difficult but when they work out then the reward is greater. I would have said it is only balsa I can buy some more and try again, this no longer applies as we all know the buying of balsa is no longer easy.
  3. Posted by fly boy3 on 28/10/2020 15:18:48: 1, The thermostat is set for required temp. Then leave well alone. 2, The system is programmed to 2,on/off per day. 3, If I need to put heating on during an off period, could I use button No 5 (advance) on programmer ? 4, If I use button 5 will programmer revert to original setting next time ? 3. Yes 4. Yes and well done Cheers Steve
  4. Posted by fly boy3 on 27/10/2020 21:53:21: If during off period 8 30 to 16 30 can you put the heating back on using thermostat ? Thanks Yes page 4 button 6 press to change from auto to once, on, off, auto. The display will change accordingly. Good luck. Cheers Steve
  5. Progress! I have been building the motor mount and battery box which is fixed to F1, The front of the battery tray form the bottom of the motor box. I have used mortice and tenons, could be tabs and slots, which I last used in woodwork class over fifty years ago. Everything is a push fit and not glued at all. Apart from the focus I am pleased with it. Next on the list is the undercarriage mount. That will be tomorrow. Cheers Steve
  6. Hi, Is this your manual? Greenstar maunual and what do you want to change? Cheers Steve
  7. Wow what a difference. Hmm did I mention it was only a loan Well done it would only have ended up in my loft never to be flown. Cheers Steve
  8. The mock up of the motor mount. The motor mount will be joined to F1 somehow, could be bolts or ply ESC location as far forward as possible. Allow for a larger battery, say 3300 3S. Battery hatch, hinged the same as my Ballerina. Removable cowl, more Undercarriage, I have a steerable one doing nothing and I could just fix the steering arm. Lots to think about. Cheers Steve
  9. Steady progress today working forwards along the fuselage. Yes all the way to F1, with the tray and hole for the battery, Minor adjustment required before it's all glued up. The fun continues. Cheers Steve
  10. I have been cutting wood Servo mount glued to F3. Guide rails fitted to the fuselage sides. and test fit. Glue in place tomorrow and then move on to F2. Hm a decision on the undercarriage has to be made and the parts ordered. I have looked at a retract but the available space is very limited so it looks like it will be fixed. I have had a good day today, made progress on the built and had my flue jab. My arm aches now and I am wondering if I have done too much or it's the jab. More fun tomorrow Cheers Steve
  11. Thanks for the helpful ideas. The pictures are very helpful FF. I can now see a way forward, I just need to shake off the lethargy. It's time to cut some wood and get on with it, I've already spent two days thinking about it and enough is enough. I love to see the Sparrow Hawks but they seem to think that a bird table is for them also. Cheers Steve
  12. Being a gardener I always find this a sad time of year. The butterflies, bees and wasps have all gone. The flowers are dying back. The good news is that the Green Finches are enjoying the Sunflower seeds that I grow for them. My autumn garlic and onions are all in the ground so I can turn my thoughts to the build. The front end. F1 will remain in place with a hole for the battery. One decision made. How to support the motor mount? My thoughts are to make a ply box that will surround the battery. How will the cowl fit? I am working on that. Air flow over the esc? I am thinking of using the apple cheeks as air inlets but where will the air exit be? My head hurts! Cheers Steve
  13. Morning GG, This is interesting and quite opportunistic as I am looking at mixing for a V-Tail glider. I just happened to see this - Here and as you see he sets the mixes to 50%. I wonder if he has increased the throws mechanically. The other thought is that as the mixes are at 100% and therefore the outputs will be clipped, as Bob said, he has the elevator as the primary control so if full up elevator is applied does this mean that there is no aileron added to one side? That is my guess and does it matter? The biggest curiosity is that your problem is solved with no obvious changes, even more interesting. Cheers Steve
  14. Thanks Peter. ' This means more time to sit in my chair.' I have a chair on the flight line now, but so far I only use it for flying gliders Have a nice day and I hope you all have fun. Which I know you will have. Cheers Steve
  15. For me just for fun is the best. I also like low key. We have a small square painted on the runway for this. I have suggested that it should be larger as I have never seen anyone hit it. Serious stuff now. The build! I started at the back of the fuselage as I knew the front needs some redesign. Yes I am making it harder because of the electric conversion. This is the layout There is plenty of battery space. This is a 2200 3S plenty of room to have two in parallel for extra nose weight. F1 is moved forward about 1" which means it will need trimming to shape. The sides need extending to match. It's all detail I need to think about. I could buy a OS30 FS but I have been advised otherwise. Stay with electric, for you it is safer. I am still trying to work out what they were trying to say but fingers were mentioned. A bit of banter is all part of the fun. Cheers Steve
