Read the contents cant see PVA, im attempting to make both a little more flexible/sticky. The rolls happen if filler is still damp under a dry crust, paper pulls the crust off the wet layer and causes the roll. I work in the construction industry, see it all the time when people rush or apply in thick layers rather than a couple of thin ones. These lite fillers tend to dry hard and powdery and easy to sand

I use two pack wood filler. I suspect very few products are actually model specific as that would mean researching and testing a product that would produce very little or any profit. However relabeling a product is a winner. The Screwfix filler is 100% the model light product, have completed two repairs over the weekend one in white model lite and the other in Screwfix light filler. Same drying time, sanding, smell, texture etc etc. Did a further drying test one of each in the shed and in the house, same results. Buy the Screwfix product and save yourself 80% plus, Not sure, splash out £4.78 as a tester. Planning some tests adding PVA and Minwax Polycrylic https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-lightweight-filler-white-500ml/75073?tc=VA2&ds_rl=1249416&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&gad_source=1&ds_rl=1247848&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhOSl16L7hAMVupNQBh1DBATSEAQYASABEgJp8PD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#product_additional_details_container

I may be so far behind the game thats its actually finished. I've been buying Model Lite Filler, usually around £9 or £12 delivered for 240ml. Today I discovered Screwfix No Nonsense Lightweight Filler at a Screwfix near you for £4.78 for 500ml. product code (75073) Using my best 1970's Incomprehensive school! matriculation I'm guessing that comes in at 15 -20% of the delivered Model lite price. It is 100% the same product.

Just need a million £ worth of batteries now

Sounds like a transmitter/receiver fault/connection issue if its all up and running on a servo tester. If using the fly sky 6 channel you can do the firmware upgrade to 10 channels for a little future proofing
-
Undoubtedly a silly question, has anyone tried a different fan on the olde 5 blade ie 10-12 blade

Forum members' new models: Let's see them.
Frank Day replied to Paul Marsh's topic in All Things Model Flying
Im not a Spitfire person but I like the look of this one, I had two of these for some reason a while back, V1 with 4 blade and a V2 with the 5 blade, I remember the 5 blade V2, blades from HK International and hub/spinner from USA via family but they nosed over as soon as they saw grass so they got moved on. -
Re the replacement cockpit, I saw a video of a guy making a cockpit from glass fibre of some sort, wasnt completely glass like but quite effective/clear
-
I've been looking at the new vent and am certain its for the top of the fuselage.
-
I did end up fitting new cables to the Vixen but I have to use a couple elastic bands to stop the trailing link nose gear turning once the tension eases. They have a short life span, I should probably source some pull springs.
-
I've been looking at the cable steering, has to go. I've seen one image somewhere of a single pushrod conversion, slidey thing, name escapes me. Looked at it for the Sea Vixen but the servo is directly behind the gear

After all the drama and I suspect a bit of a scam this is the "new" Vampire ready to be collected along with a Eflite Radian Pro Glider avec led's all in good working order for £30. Fortunately I have actually met the guy a few times so no concerns.
-
As the Vampire appears to be so popular a printed slip on nose cover might be very popular and there are several versions of the nose cone in real life. If someone with the capability could knock some up I'm pretty sure they would move quite a number of them, I'd buy a couple certainly. Really its just a glorified spinner.
-
Its pretty sound, very similar to the Sea Vixen set up. Had a result after the one last week that turned out not to be a Vampire at all for £100, finally got my money back today. This one cost me £10 from a friend of a friend of ----------------- with two BNIB wings and other bits. Tatty nose bit of heat and filler should do it, thought I might find some sort of cover to tidy it up. Going to tidy the nose and live with for the season and probably go camo next winter or I have a fancy for red for some reason. Will have to source decals, I normally buy from Calliegraphics as unaware of a similar service here. I have a Freewing Venom, silver version with the latest 9 blade and inrunner

As usual no models or spares at HK except the horizontal Is anyone aware of a 3D printed nose for the Vampire, quite a few bits out there, flaps, cheat vent, gear doors/covers etc. Or can you print one, sort of a slip on cover!
-
Hopefully a refund tonight (Monday) if the seller can enter the correct email! Good news a contact of a contact knows of one. A wee bit tatty, nose has had a bump or two, but comes with a set of BNIB wings plus other bits. Best bit £10! as no longer being used and gathering dust an extra £20 gets me a Eflite Radian 2m power glider as well, fully useable. Better still I've actually met this guy before and have seen the Vampire flying. Does anyone know of a 3d print nose for the Vampire

Hi Martin, re the Komet are you using a CG point forward of the manual recommended position
-
Im an older newish returner I find it useful as the hands arent quite as flexible and I tend to give it too much initially so a max of 30% everywhere and then adjust it down or not depending. Also have rates on a 3 position and play around with the whole lot, all depending how it flies. Durafly ME163 Komet on 100% rates and no expo, no chance here. Watch the videos of experienced flyers getting it off the ground. I have a single channel heading hold gyro on the rudder, just remember to switch off as soon as airborne. Some high wing jobbies just a couple of switchable rates

Here in all its glory, Was probably IC at some point in the 1950's or horse drawn, wing has recently been knocked up I suspect for sale purpose out of some sort of foam and covered in best parcel tape, no evidence of a spar. Not sure what the wing profile is as its the same either way and thins mid cord before expanding to the TE, I did decide on the most obvious way up but the aileron cable would be out of the top!. it doesn't matter though as it only fits where it touches and is an S shape from tip to tip. Not sure if the seller is moving his old stuff on or has set himself up as a wheeler dealer trying to make rubbish saleable. It does however come with a recent BMFA sticker!

The red thing is what arrived! I've been in contact with the seller, it appears to have been a senior moment listing. Full refund offered so sending it back unless you guys are keen on it. Trad build, electric i think I can see an XT60, foam ceiling tile wing covered in red parcel tape, its quite special.
-
That would be ok but no its a red thing is the best description, some home made job that no one would pay a penny for.
-
Looking for one of these. If you see the facebook Marketplace one its a con, I know I bought it and was sent a box of rubbish ( £110 Frome Somerset )
-
Hi, Would you send the link if different to the earlier one

Seemed to have been blocked from facebook messenger after his message stating it had been delivered with a nice description of my front door, bit weird, Sounds like an attempt to prove delivery. Emailed using the paypal address and contacted paypal to dispute. Suddenly messenger is working again. Claiming it was always the red one and that the Vampire sold last year at £140! Fortunately I did a few screen shots with the vampire at £110 and with the dialog box open with our chat. Just in case. Has now added a picture of the red thing to our messages. Asking if I would like to keep the Thing or return for a refund! Already re packaged. Going tracked and signed for.
