I recently acquired a Protech Topic 400 RC Motor Glider Cobolt Brushed Motor model off e-bay. The existing motor is an Irvine 480 Cobalt 11T brushed electric motor. I cannot find any information about this motor and am thinking should I replace the motor with a brushless motor? My question is, is this possible and would you recommend doing this? If so can someone recommend a suitable motor please? Hope to hear back from you soon. Many thanks. Gary

Thanks PatMc. Yes I got the model off e bay as you say. I would be interested in receiving some pictures if that's OK thanks? I am a newbie regarding electric flight. I used to do nothing but slope soar but advancing years have turned me to flat field flying as my legs do not cope with hills to well. To be honest I am finding it difficult to understand the different types of electric motors and associated battery selections. Any advice would be most welcome from anyone.

Hi everyone. Looking for some advice on receivers which will work with a FS-i6X transmitter. The receiver needs to be the same size as this broken receiver in the picture to fit into my model glider (Protech Topic 400 RC Motor Glider Cobolt) which has a very small fuselage diameter. In future I would like the receiver to work with a FrSky TaranisX9D Plus transmitter running EdgeTX version 2.10.6 when I can get my head around the programming required. Any help would be appreciated. Gary

Hi EarlyBird. Sorry for the late reply to you, but have been on the road over the past few days. The canopy your showing is for a 2000 V2 which is very different to the Phoenix 2000 model that I have. The model I have has a completely different canopy profile to the one that you kindly offered to me. Many thanks however your offer. Gary

Yes I think you are right about it, as the pictures you kindly sent show a different profile to the place it fits on the fuselage. The one you have is not the right fit I am afraid, so I am afraid I will leave it with you. Thanks for all your help nevertheless, which I very much appreciate. Gary

No I haven't. I sent an e-mail to the manufacturers in Poland, but have had no response as yet. The canopy on Wheelspin models doesnt look to be the right shape looking at the picture on their web page. Will have a look at Banggood later.

Hi have just acquired a Phoenix 2000 RC Motor Glider 200cm Span as I want to try electric flight/soaring. It is missing the canopy/battery cover and I was wondering if anyone has one that they would like to pass on to me? Happy to pay for it including post and packing. Thanks Gary

Hi everyone, looking for some advice and hopefully pictures of how to shape the wing tips of my Elan 100? I am slowly putting together this model over a period of time and am struggling to see how best to finalise the shape of the wing tip assembly. That's amazing. Thank you so much for the research and info. Looking at the picture on the Sarik website it does have some similarity to mine, so have ordered a set of plans to check and also establish the CofG before I try to fly it. Thanks everyone, very much appreciated. Gary
