  1. Just to update, I have now acquired the instruction booklet.
  2. Hi, I wonder if anyone can help with the instructions for a Flair Kite trainer kit. I believe the kit is now out of production. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Many thanks
  3. Held both Mode buttons one basic one advanced switched on, success able to choose 1 - 4 stick modes. Changing over ratchet and spring. Will also follow up advice re: FrSky module. Thanks all for your help.
  4. Hi, I have recently aquired a mint little used Futaba T-8UPS (FF8) outfit. I think around 10 years old but apparently still a very capable R/C. My flying is rather laid back, Vintage and Thermal and so even this R/C would excel any application I would need. However a couple of things I understand its possible to convert to 2.4 ghz. Any advice would be appreciated. Also the TX is set for Mode 2. As I fly Mode 1 I would like to reset. I have downloaded the manual and it states Modes can be altered by simply turning TX on holding down the two Mode buttons where a display shows STICK MODE X with a number representing the current Mode which can apparently be changed. I have tried this and no such menu appears, am I missing something. Any users advise appeciated Thank you.
  5. Hi,  I have a Falcon kits vintage Falcon. A scaled down version of the old Keil Kraft Falcon.  The wingspan is 36" and the all up flying mass according to the plan should be 7.7oz when built including radio gear, motor etc. Again according to the plan the basic finished airframe should end up at around 4.4oz.  The kit was manufactured in 2002 with the following recommended R/C equipment.  GWS 30g 150 motor/gearbox & 7"x6" prop.  7CELL 300mAh NIMH pack.  2X 5.5 GWS servos.  GWS 5 amp 7g ICU 100 ESC.  GWS 7.5g Rx with 3channels.  This is my first attempt at electrics.  I appreciate that since 2002 things have moved on rapidly with electrics.  I am wondering if anyone can give an idea of what would be a suitable current alternative to the above. Thanks.
  6. Hi there,  I know this thread was posted ages ago but in answer to your request and of course if you are still interested after all this time I have a complete boxed, unstarted kit. Again like you I first saw one of these being flown at our club site around the mid 80s. Incredible machines. I thought then I must get one. Unfortunately production was short lived for some reason. However if you still need any info on the canard section I may be able to help.
  7. Thanks for the advice,  much appreciated.   From your description then of the build its most likely there were two versions of the sunshine.
  8. Hi,  thanks for your reply,  sounds spot on.  The pod and fin are fibreglass with what they term on the plan as a carbon fibre boom. The wings and rudder are foam veneered with a sheet balsa T tail.  Looking at the plan again it says open class thermal soarer for 2 / 3 channel (spoiler option) with an epoxy glass fuselage option.  I am presuming then this to be the deluxe version although nowhere on the plan sheet does it give any detail for building a balsa / ply alternative.  Perhaps two boxed kit versions were produced at the time.   It certainly is a nicely manufactured kit.
  9. Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any recollections of the Soaron Sunshine 126" span glider .   I have  aquired a complete unstarted kit. The designers name on the plan is Roy Garner with the figures 80 after the name,  this could possibly be the year it was produced. Thanks.
  10. Blimey, whats all this pun business?   Pleased with the advice anyway!!
  11. Hi.  Thanks again. No doubt success is guaranteed. The reason I posted this thread is that I have no knowledge whatsoever regarding electric flight. The array of gear out there is very confusing to say the least.  Regards Roger.
  12. Hi. Many thanks for your advice.  I will certainly try your recommendations.  Regards Roger
  13. Hi.  Great,  thanks for your advice,  certainly worth a go and with minimum outlay.   One thing however I should have mentioned in my first thread is that the kit comes with its own 7x4 pusher prop with a propshaft bore of 1/8" specifically for the old Enya 0.9.  Is it possible to adapt the prop supplied to the motor shaft or are there pusher props available for electric application.  Regards Roger.
  14.  Hi. I have a  Robbe vintage Motor Drachen kit.  It is a semi scale Hang Glider kit I believe from the late 70s early 80s. The Pre finished sail/wing has a span of of 1620mm and according to the description the alloy chassis / wing supports will have an all up finished weight of approx 1.2kg.  Does anyone have any experience of  this old kit.   My main query is the reason I have placed this thread in the Electric flight forum.  The model is designed to be powered by the old Enya 0.9 R/C engine which I think is 1cc or thereabouts. I would like to convert to electric.  Having no experience at all regarding electrics, can anyone give an idea as to what size motor, speed controller, battery pack would be suitable to replace the I.C described. Thanks
