Definitely lol but it's a beast when running on the ground.

Little update, still flying the Helis but I moved over to tanks to,got my first one recently,so now into this also 🙂
-
Tonight I managed to fly my Helis for a hour the wind forecast said 1 hour low to no wind between 8 and 9 and true to there word it was perfect,so before that time I walked to my local golf course as fast as my legs would go lol,I flew one like it was a plane and thought about the whole plane situation,I'm still tempted but gona think about it,on calmish days Helis are brilliant, but finding those days is few and far between.
-
I am still thinking about it and reading your guys comments and advice,I did just watch a vid on YouTube of a guy flying the eachine spitfire warbird in 12 to 15mph winds and it handled it like a champ,it was uk also, very impressive, but yeah I am thinking about it all as it was.
-
Nice one that sounds really cool, these planes are so cheap but they seem really decent from all the vids I've watched etc.
-
Yeah the high wing ones seem very good and a decent start for sure.
-
Only YouTube vids but I am more interested in the warbirds especially the f4u corsair.
-
I have a big field elsewhere, the vid clip I wouldn't go there,I have a large field for planes if I had one.
-
This was at the local park but don't really fly there much now but yeah I got this but what's next could be a plane,I will keep looking and researching but on a day with ok winds this is great fun 🙂 VID-20240401-WA0005.mp4

The volantex planes are the ones I'm eyeing up at the moment, from the high wing to lower wing I'm seeing all my options,I do like to really do my research before I do my next move in the future and not do something silly etc.
-
Yeah I am certainly thinking about all the advice and next month is my birthday hence I want to get something at that time,at first I was thinking a heli as there's so many available but the wind situation is tricky or a plane which I am actively looking at now and sim work,I was even gona get a henglong leopard 2 pro version rc tank but I figure you can only do so much on the ground before getting bored but either way I have been flying for a few months now and I certainly ain't giving up on this flying hobby,I really enjoy being outside and enjoying the flying of whatever I have.
-
Yeah my two Helis I have are the sub 250g and I admit were a real handful at first for me but now my small v2 I can throw around the sky and do nap of the earth flying ie skimming the grass quite well, don't really struggle any more but yeah I am practicing on the sim at the moment and I am gona do that a few days so to speak till I figure out just what plane I would like but the high wing one above seems a good bet.
-
All your advice is awesome guys I really appreciate your thoughts and this morning I've found another plane which is really cheap and a trainer with very good reviews and yeah I figure it be very light and not like strong winds but yeah goin out late at night with less wind may be the way to go as I do with my Helis and maybe I'm jumping into it too hard ie wind at 20mph but if I start off slowly ie low winds it could be the way to go,but flying Helis I find easy now in some respects but fixed wing could potentially be a good direction to go,but this plane seems good?
-
Fair enough, well 15mph or near wind I guess but wind that's just a tad too much for a small heli, something like that.
-
In regards to learning I am flying on a sim on my tablet cos obviously I gotta learn etc.
-
Yeah I am just wanting something to handle really strong breeze of like oo 15 to 20mph for example and not mad conditions but just a strong breezy day which my Helis just can't cope with but a warbird could fly into the wind and at least let me learn, sure I gotta learn I accept that but yeah I gotta start somewhere,I have found a F4U with quite advanced features and it certainly won't break the bank but yeah I am still looking and thinking.
-
Yeah I reckon they would both be great and vids on YouTube speak very highly of the p51,I am doin my research and I do really enjoy this flying hobby,I've flown my Helis 5 nights in a row at the moment, that's how much I enjoy it 🙂
-
I took my small c129 v2 helicopter out tonight and it can handle heavy breeze quite well compared to my bigger heli and I can fly it very well but obviously a plane I'm a complete newb so would have to learn,at the moment I am really liking the p51 of the same make, very interested in it at the moment.
-
I have seen the p51 version of the same make of plane and they say it's better than the fw-190? And I have watched a few vids of both, still looking but yeah they both seem really good,if they can at least not get blown backwards like a heli in heavy breeze then that's a start.
-
Hmm that's a interesting idea thanks I will look at that direction to,I am very competent now at flying the Helis I have only crashed the md500 once and after I repaired it myself I have not had another incident and it's probably got 60 flights on it now or more but as soon as the breezes hit 15 mph it's not capable of coping with it and on a nice day I'd like to fly something?
-
I am flying Helis but I am getting frustrated on windier days where I have to retreat cos of it getting bad but I am thinking of goin to planes and getting this fw-190,anyone tried it? Any good? It would be my first plane but I have been flying Helis months now but I want to fly something on windier days.

Ain't been around in a while but a little update, been carrying on flying the c189 and c129 Helis, both have a considerable number of flights now on them and the c189 is heading towards 40 flights or something now, alot,I've never crashed it again to,so overall yeah I am carrying on with this awesome hobby 🙂
-
Thought I'd post a little update regarding my heli,I've put another 6 flights on it now and with each lasting 15 minutes that's alot of flight time but yeah it's flying great no problems at all and I also got better looking missile launchers for it to lol, pointless but looks sick,so overall I am still flying the Helis 🙂
-
Yeah the c189 md500 is very good for what it is,I wouldn't fly mine indoors I admit my skills aren't up to it but outside I'm good, well careful,in the sky it looks fabulous though, lovely little war bird.

Flew both Helis this morning it's been awesome fun,I love this rc heli stuff lol but yeah well happy 🙂
