  1. Thanks @kc That's pretty much how I had imagined doing it. I'll make a template with the front of the wing shape cut out to gauge the shape of LE down the wing. I think latter boomerangs have a square section at each centre connecting rib to form a square peg, like you described with the central dowel which I will go for.
  2. Thank you again @David Davis. A great help @Nigel R I already have enough balsa for the ribs left over from previous builds so will use it up, maybe need to just pick up some more 1/16 for sheeting. Original boomerang was banded but I'll build the new wing with dowels and bolts
  3. @David Davis thank you thats perfect, any idea on how many ribs per wing or rough rib spacing?
  4. I make two ply ribs then bolt the rough cut balsa ribs in between and sand to shape. Every rib comes out identical to the ply ones and each other.
  5. Excellent, thank you that's a big help. Just got to get some photocopies done of my rib profile now. While I try to find out the dihedral and measurments from LE to main spar, I'll get to stripping the covering off and cutting a hatch to get to the fuel tank as its completely sealed in and doesnt look as if previous owner has fuel proof anywhere.
  6. Thanks @RottenRow, looks a proper job that. You have inspired me. Ive checked my balsa stock and should have a enough for this wing, may have to pick up one or two pieces for the sheeting and cap strips. How many ribs per wing you reckon? 1550mm wing span. I'll make them all out of 1/8th as i already have it.
  7. Thanks for replies. I quite fancy the challenge of building this wing from scratch and the whole fuselage and tail plane need recovering anyway so a new wing i thinknwould look odd. I have a selection of balsa so wouldn't need to purchase much more i don't think. @RottenRow thanks for the photos. Your rear spar is that just on the top of the ribs or bottom as well? And should I use 1/4 spruce for rear spar as well as the main two? I'll use 1/8 ply as dihedral braces when I can find what it is
  8. Please can anyone with a boomerang please measure the width of sheeting from LE to main spars and dihedral if any. I have found a wing rib profile that will be close enough from this manual of a v3 https://riku.pl/uploads/products/7455/sea_211_manual.pdf Thinking 3/32 ribs, 5/16 main spars, 3/32 wing tips, 1/16 sheeting centre top and bottom and LE to main spars top and bottom and 1/32 sheer webs. Does this sound about right for this model? Cheers
  9. Think i would also need to know width and length of ailerons, dihedral, wingtip shape. Measurment from LE to main spar.
  10. @David Davis thanks, any ideas where or if i could obtain plans or drawings to build a new wing for it?
  11. Incase anyone is wondering. If i get this thing to fly I'd probably hit the flying dr as well 🤣
  12. Thanks @leccyflyer 71.99 a bit steep for just the wings. I could probably build another complete trainer for less. But would be nice to get this one up and going.
  13. I've very kindly been gifted a boomerang 1 i believe however as title says it won't come back or go for that matter as it has no wing. Any idea how I could obtain a plan to build a new one or is there a kit available for just the wings? I can't seem to find anything. Cheers
  14. I was quoted £50 for one plan in one print shops, or 15p for a3. I went with the a3. Found another print close to me, it's part of a university so will see what they can do tomorrow.
