  1. Have a look at the link below, it covers curing a bricked taranis. **LINK**
  2. I have just become the proud owner of an Art Hobby Alpha-EV 1M It is a beautiful kit and was planning to leave the wood grain showing. The wood veneer on the wings is thin so was planning to seal the wood with sanding sealer first and then lacquer. The tail fins are, just, very thin sheets of wood and I'd like to reinforce the tail. Was thinking of glassing them using PolyC and not resin to save weight. Will the Glass cloth and PolyC give a big increase in strength? As PolyC is water based was going to use sanding sealer first, but how would you stop the wood from warping when applying the sealer? I realise that covering them with film would be a way forward but want to leave the wood showing - if possible. Thanks in advance James
  3. Hi Martyn Read through this post a while ago, when I was looking at the Taranis systems. James
  4. I have removed the door from the battery bay and use a couple of velcro straps and velcro under the battery to hold it in place. Able to use thicker batteries with no issues. Also makes the battery swapping easier. Got through my A Cert on that set up
  5. Can never have too much glue Yes please David.
  6. Hi I agree that an IC prop can be used to great effect with an electric motor. Currently have a 10x8 WWII Zoar on a Parkzone P-47D, works well. Only down side is I now have to do a near perfect landing each time! Just don't go the other way! Electric props won't take the vibrational strain from a IC motor! James
  7. Hi Paul Just been through the set up and was about to suggest what has been said above. Set up a new model on the TX to test. Only other thing that i can suggest is to turn on the TX whilst holding down the Clear and the Back Buttons. This brings up the Raw Input Test Screen, It lists the switches and the trims etc, When moving the switches it will change the value. If the value doesn't move then there is a fault. There is a post on that topic for the DX8 from within the forum HERE - first post explains it. This is a separate screen to the calibration one. James
  8. Hi Paul Never had an issue with the Parkone P-47D. What's the rest of the setup? Wing type, single servo? Flaps, single servo? And tail setup? Etc and what's plugged into what channel in the RX? And I'll have a look on my DX18 and see if I can replicate. Other way I've done setups is to modify one of the models in the Spectrum DX18 setups you can download from the spektrum website.....makes life easier.... James
  9. A lovely looking model. Grew up with them in the north-east of Scotland. A particular favourite of mine. Question is how much would a commision be? James
  10. Hi Simon Remembered this build from before. OK, it is a pusher, not an EDF but the spans are about the same. James
  11. Hi there Here is a chart from Master Air Screw that has some usefull info on converting from 2 to 3 bladed props. Even when using the chart you'll still need a watt meter to check that the power output is still with in the limits of the motor and ESC. James
  12. Hi All Forgot to say that I have mentioned the matter to George via the phone who is amending the website to reflect this. He advised that RM won't allow them to send planes first class as they are too big! James Edited By James M on 04/09/2012 11:06:36
  13. Hi All I have purchased a eflite advanced 25e and spinner from 4-max and postage was listed at £10.74. Ok a little steep compared to others but I like the service from George, always good with advice. I did some hunting and couldn't find the two together and seperate postage was going to be about the same, so I ordered from 4 Max. I received an email this morning say that the items have been sent RM Standard Parcels (3-5 working days)! I wished I'd paid the extra because they were both next day delivery! The website says that they are dispatched 1st class post (registered depending on the value) which is different to the type of postage stated in the email. I'm going to see what the postage charges are and how long it takes, i'll keep the thread posted with the details.
