  1. Hi Ken, Not sure if you are flying off grass or tarmac but she sits quite low and suffers a bit from a low AOA, I shimmed the front leg up with some 1/8 ply which helped a lot.
  2. Hi Mike, Can you add: Just Kits 194 Hessle Road Hull HU3 3BE Tel: 01482 618001 Good guys who run this traditional shop.
  3. I concur with Scott, I've still got the same set in my cougar and she's 5 years old now, still love flying her and still a great performer.
  4. Posted by David Ashby - RCME on 05/11/2014 15:22:03: I enjoyed the video James, what a nice site you have there Thanks David, we've been busy making improvements (drainage etc) and things are really starting to pay off now. If you are ever up in Yorkshire (near Harrogate) then feel free to pop in, we have a 'who's going flying' calendar on our website that members find helpful, after all modellers love a natter ! **LINK**
  5. We've been having a great time at North Leeds, this year has seen a plethora of new members for our club and with it some exciting new interests. Colin has been busily scaling up his Extra 330L, all hand made and not bad for a plumber ! One of our new members Nigel has been tinkering with quads and took some lovely video last week, its it amazing how the hobby has changed, who'd of thought that great aerial video was so affordable.
  6. Bob,  I've still got mine it must be 25 years old and still going strong, I took it to Sandhays aero-tow last wekeend and it caused quite a stir after staying up longer than some of the big gliders, it great fun and a dodle to fly if you get the colour scheme right. I fitted a vario to it last weekend and hit 415m off tow (photos from last year at our club www.nlmfc.org) Edited By James Hindle on 31/05/2013 15:59:45
  7. John,   Tim is looking for a new UK dealer for Lander products at the moment so hopefully they will be back in circulation shortly   I'm building the massive (and I mean massive) 90mm Lander T-33 at the moment, its a cracker !
  8. RAF Dishforth had a differnet tornado for the fortnighly fly-in !   Indoor flying get more appealing every week, pity I like fast EDF jets !
  9. I know there are issues to LMS with HobbyKing but you have to hand it to them and their latest development in producing 'honest' promotion videos for the planes they carry, they recently lured Scott Cuppello (formerly of BRC) over to HK, his videos are classic and IMHO something our local shops could learn a thing ot two from.
  10. Thanksfor the help guys, in the end I opted for replacing the screws for imperial dubro rigging couplers then used the hanger 9 idea of R clips, seems to work. Long term will opt to permanently join the wing and reduce the need for the struts. Thanks
  11. I've just purchased a beautiful SIG 1/4 scale cub, a lot larger than expected but covered in glorious solatex which was the deal maker for me. The bit that bother me is the wing struts which are functional but are fixed making storage very difficult, has anyone any experience of alternatives using metal hinges or anything else so the wings fold flat, it would seem quite simple and retain the structural support but what about the mid support bar ?  Thanks for any help
  12. Hi tom,  Can you post some pictures so we know what you mean, I've got the 6S version with everything on it including the electric retracts (they are way cool) , she's rather heavy but flies a treat, the only thing I wound is that the elevator would not centre with the pushrod system so i opted for sullivan cables which did the trick
  13. funny picked one up (but put it down) at the harrogate show last year, there are a few things to watch on it, take a look here I remember the control horns were prone to shear. With the right set-up Its a 140mph bird so have fun.
  14. Go with the Lander electric retracts, I've got them on the cougar, too many flights to count and plenty of unexpected landings and still performing, no hassle, no problems, a bonus is that they don't bind / strip !
  15. Home of the famous poly-c an antidote to hanger rash 1
  16. http://www.harrogatemodelairshow.co.uk/index.htm#pagelinks Looks like November 27th and 28th
  17. Nice flying, good to see several of the Lander models in the air at once, you Overlander pilots should practice a routine ?
  18. Hi There were a few test models produced, blue/silver, and the red/black version (now red bull) , where did you see the red/blue version Tony ?
