  1. Hi Greg. This may sound harsh, but if you are not prepared to learn to fly in wind in this country, you have chosen the wrong hobby.   You ask how anyone gets started in this hobby. Easy, you join a club and buddy with a flyer who can fly in wind. Its not as difficult as you think. The flying is easy, the landing is another story.   Garry Edited By Garry Pollard on 10/05/2013 17:53:06
  2. Posted by PatMc on 10/04/2013 13:46:58: Posted by Garry Pollard on 10/04/2013 11:55:58: Hi Dan The trick with landing with a cross wind is to use RUDDER as the primery control. Most peeps dont and make a hash of the landing Also as far as I know cloud will not affect TX range at all It would however help if you described what controls you were using for the landing Garry Using the rudder as primary control during landing is a recipe for disaster. In fact unless you can use it fully co-ordinated with aileron it's best not used at all during landing until the wheels are in contact with the ground. You fly your way, and I will fly my way. One crash in 6 yrs flying, will keep me flying my way, and that was due to a faulty lipo Garry

  6. I understand that this was posted quite a long time ago, but Phil Wood from Modelchat informs me that the cheapo servos from HK use the same arms. Hope this helps Garry
  7. I have 2 quattro chargers, which have given me perfect service for 2 years. I use mainly 4S 5000mah, so with this set up I can charge 8 lipos at the same time. Saves me an awful lot of time. Google quattro charger. Garry
  8. Hi John, They are deff lipo s not cylindrical, nut normal lipo shape, and are rated 20 C. Garry

  13. This unfortunatly is the way buisnesses are going.. In the food market, your local supermarket will eventually close down all the small shopkeepers round him, and in the same way this is what is happening to the LMS. They just cant/wont compete with the big on line model suppliers. We ultimatly are to blame. Garry
  14. Max Thrust P 51 Gunfighter, fully fitted out including retracts. dristibuted by Century Uk. I have one, and although quite expensive, flies very well Garry
  15. Renewed mine yesterday on the new system. easy peasy. Garry
  16. Like Tim and Nev, my lipos are always fully charged. I have always done this and some of my 4S ones are 6 yrs old and still working 100%. Do I fly a lot, yes I do, twice a week 52 weeks out of the year. Garry
  17. I am old enough to remember the British motorcycle top brass say that these Japanese bikes are just a flash in the pan. Look where it got them !! Garry
  18. I am going into my 78 th year, and still fly at least twice a week winter and summer. Rain is the only prob as I wear glasses. In winter I wear long johns as well as my usual clothes, and rely on knitted gloves with the thumbs removed. As I fly with thumbs only, my hands are warm at the end of the flight. Good thick warm boots are a must, with thermal socks. If I can do it anyone can Lol Garry
  19. Been using the "Orange" 6 channel RX s for the last 18 months without any problem whatsoever. I bought a £250 model at the Nats this year, and dropped an Orange 6 channel RX in it. Any probs, not a one. I for one will not be buying any more of the genuine ones. Garry
