  6. Hello Any one who has just tried to view or leave a post for someone on Timbos old thread "beginners begin here" will have realised the whole thing has gone and been replaced by a new version with the same title. If you would like to leave a post HERE so that others that you WERE talking with will be able to continue chatting, please do so.   I intend this thread to be used by beginners but for absolutely anything to do with flying they like.
  7. Plane arriving tommorow not joining a club have Bmfa never flew a thing in my life tell ya how it goes
  8. Ok chaps what is the nominal voltage of a fully charged 4.8v Nimh rx pack please
  9. Right im absolutely hacked off with this thats TWICE i have tried to add comments for this stupid thing to say its to long where does it go surley it sould let you edit what you have written so it can go on instead of deleting as what in my case has been 3 hours total of thinking and typing what i thought would be usefull content for it to be totally wasted im now going to find something USEFULL to do

  12. Hello there can anyone please leave posts describing the best way to set up servos and particullary "centering" of said servos what i am looking at is your basic 4 servo set up. Many thanks
  13. David not a happy camper just spent an hour and a half writting for it not to send my post saying it was to longggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Very intereting i will have many posts for you david as im only on my third issue of RCM&E i think i qualify as a begginer
  15. once again thanks timbo for clearing that one up for me 4.8v will certainly be enough for what i need  then. Hoping to be able to finish getting all my radio gear sorted in the next week Then i got to actually by that plane a few accesories and its up up and away to the nearset tutor for some air time!!!!
  16. hi im a total beginer but am loving it all my querie is regards to rx voltages ie the 4.8v & 6v systems that are about. it would appear to me that the majority would run 4.8v whilst the 3D maniacs and large scale guy's need that bit more so generally opt for the 6v system. Please correct me if you think im wrong to say that it just seems to be what i have observed personaly So can any one tell me what is it that decides if we go 4.8v or 6v then apart from size and type of aircraft used as surley even if its a .46 ic powered sunday hack it would benifit from the extra 1.2v and handling would be increased. or is it the case you just wouldnt see the benifit enough to justify the extra expense. all it seems to be is you can either buy 4.8 or 6v just as easily an most servos recivers are rated to handle the 6v without any drama so why not use them????
  17. ok im in i really want this kit does that mean i get it????
  18.   yeah thanks Neil that sounds like good adice i will try my hand at both and make up my mind that way. Dave, dont panic im as patriotic as they come all it was is i found a link throuhgh "thirty thousand feet" which took me to a site explaining i felt in great detail and in terms a newbee like me could understand it wasnt till i got to the section on raio gear that i realised it was written by an American it was just a bit confussing as to quote "90% of flyers in the states use mode 2 mode 1 is not used very much" it just left me pondering but  i think Neil is spot on with his advice!! Good workon the mag by the way very usefull
