  1. Starmax F18 90mm fan Im thi9nking of getting one. Does anbody have one they look great. Just want to know what they are like. Are the retracts any good? Does it have rudders? If not is there scope for fitting servos and making them work?? Its either this or the maxthrust Tornado!! Andy
  2. It looks pretty smart mate. I used to be a Tornado engineer in the RAF and markings of that model was the last F3 i worked on!! I think i will have to treat myself!!!! It does look a tad rapid on landing!!!!!
  3. Stu. Ive only just seen these max thrust tornados i was wondering how they fly mate?? I was thinking about getting one!! Andy
  4. Im looking to upgrade the mechanical retracts i have in my VQ ME109. The VQ ones are ok but have collapsed on landing. (no damage to the model)  in the locked down position they felt ok but turns out they arent!! I was just wondering which one to go for. Any help would be great. Cheers Andy
  5. Tony have you thought about using crayola crayons as im not sure you should be allowed the use of solvents!!!!!!
  6. I fly mine on an OS 55 AX and its fine. I had a dead stick last week and came in very fast and hard ill have a quick look at the U/C mounts!!
  7. Dont know what happened there cut and pasted from word (wonder if its one of those office 2007 things again!!!) added pictures and its all gone not ot worry ill re do it later cant be bothered doing it again now!!
  8. Well i doubt this will be the longest blog ever but thought i would have a go a puttin it on here!! When i ordered it i went for all the bells and whistles of the 4 cell HP version with the thrust vectoring unit.  Well i got a call that the model was in the shop but the fan had been taken out to get replaced with the new fan. Plus the T V unit wasnt in yet!! Not to worry as the new arival into the family had taken up most of my time!!  I got the rest of the bits in 2 days ago all the ducted fan and motor plus the T V unit and rods.  So i thought it was about time to put it together!!  The first thing that struck me when i opened the box was the quality of the instructions. The colour photo step by step instructions left nothing out very impressed. 103 steps to build the plane plus a further 18 to fir the T V kit. Anybody could build this from these instructions. The model comes in 5 parts. Left and right wing fin fuselage and the intake. Alle the flyng controls are pre fitted with clear hinge tape making things very straight forward.
  9. Ive got mine but not built or flown the model so couldnt really say there. Check out my thread on the squall someone on it has mentioned it. Andy
  10. Dizz Ive got the airframe but no motor as yet it should be in today!! Not holding my breath!! Ive not started it as ive just started building a Flair Fokker DVII so im throwing balsa about like an idiot!! Once i get the fan i will start the squall plus i need to get some lipos for it yet!!  Andy
  11. Hi Andy Ive just been offered this kit un started with wheels, guns and a Jockey for about £80. An ambitious task as my first build!! Hopefully make as good a job of it as you have. I wasnt really looking for a bi plane but its more the building im interested in at the minute, but im sure once ive put all the work in i will!!!! I will be using your blog for as much info as possible!! How long did it take you from start to finish?   Cheers AndyEdited By Andy Pickford on 02/10/2009 21:05:01
