Vecchio Austriaco
I like that despite the fact that the poor pilot get's all the exhaust gasses into the cockpit. Probably it was a small engine and very much diluted by the air blown over by the prop. now the question is - who should I follow? Lindsay/ Beb? Basil
Hi, can anybody tell me about the pilot figure for the Dawn Flyer !!!! The only reference to the figure is Lindsays reference; ' Parkzone Pilot'. What is the scale and where is the best place to look?. Thank you in advance. Sarik who sell the kit do not stock pilots so I am up a gum tree. I am also having trouble finding wheels as 'Flair' dont seem to be around!!!!! (3" are reccomended) Thanks for any suggestions, well all that are physically possible. Barry Edited By Basil on 03/12/2019 09:30:
Don Fry
That's going to be about 1/8 scale. But the way to go is measure the width of the cockpit, for the shoulder width, and measure the shoulder width of an average bystander. The ratio gives the scale you need. Justingoneflying
Hi I started my Dawn flyer year ago but lost the plans due to my divorce and so on. Where could I get a copy of them as I would really like to build one again.

Bit of a coincidence as I have had my build on ice for some while but recommenced it this week and made the undercarriage. kc
This type of model needs wheels that look right - but it would seem that the Flair or Williams Bros wheels are not available now. I suggest you check to see if you can get suitable wheels before buying the plan or spending time and balsa on this model. In the past people made disc wheels from ply and fitted O ring rubber as tyres or even made spoked wheels themselves ( see Boddingtons scale book etc ) Nowadays 3D printing seems a possibility , but not everybody has a3D printer. Low pass Pete
My local model shop is Inwoods and they have been able to supply wheels very similar to Flair ones. They are printed hubs with large O Rings for the tyres.
kc
That's good news if Inwoods still sell them - I cannot see them on their website though. Edited November 30, 2023 by kc
