No pics of build, but this is from May 2020: @Timo Starkloff's  Yak-9. I took a liberty with the canopy which I fashioned from a Lidl washing up bottle, hardly scale, but never mind, it could easily enough be replaced if I so wished! Finished AUW including 2200mah 3S is 811g. I hope to test fly tomorrow. Oh I added a rudder so it has one extra control surface compared to the plan, and I used two servo's for the aileron, but then it's leccy, so one less as no throttle servo needed.

Hi Ton,

managed to maiden the Yellow yesterday between rain showers. Flies like on rails from the beginning, setup almost as recommended. Love it!

Span is a little shorter, only 78 cm. Akku is a 1300 mAH. And the prop is an ApC 7x6, motor as recommended. Speed ctr. is Wasaby 35 Amp.

Regards, Franz

I have had a look through this topic (Pics from your free RCME plan build) from start to finish. 🤔

Where has all these years gone ?

Some of my plan builds need to be added to this list.

And I need to get some of my own plans built, time is just passing by so fast.

Here is my Lightning pusher (built Nov 2022) from the Tony Nijhuis plan RCM&E 2008. Despite following the suggested balsa grades and electrics, she came out at 800g balanced with a 3S 2200 lipo (upper recommended is 700g)! I also saved weight by not fitting ailerons due to their reported over sensitivity and the lack of them on the subsequent EDF version. No lie, it took 29 failed hand launches before she finally flew on the 30th. Not to mention a few knocks and repairs in between. Shame, she looked great after covering, but a casualty of war by the time of the first proper flight. The darn thing just kept flipping inverted until enough speed was gained for effective elevon control, by which time the ground kept rising too quickly. The trick, for me, was to tilt the motor so it effectively pushed the tail down just a tiny bit AND to hand launch it like Tessa Sanderson. Once I mastered the javelin launch it was 5 minutes of high adrenalin fun at around 120 mph. Lasted about 30 flights before an elevon servo failure (Tower Pro 9g IIRC). Blue foam canopy.
