Congrats for Gold to Igor (once more ! 🙃) and for triple Silver to Pete, Kevin & Glenn as well.

With only 1 prediction correct and DNFs for 2 of my team's drivers, it surely wasn't Gaston Formula's day...

But I can't really blame Monsieur Ricard, can I ?

See you all next week-end.

Chris

Very difficult to predict the results so far this season. With the red team continually falling down the order for one reason or another. I have a thought, I seem to remember Louis saying that he would like to drive for Ferrari! With the mistakes the team are making I wonder if that could be his retirement plan. I await comments .

Evening all...

Apologies for the late reminder - I got distracted with other stuff!

Hungary this weekend, before F1 takes its summer break.  So, first of all;

Don't forget your predictions!

Ferrari have had 1st and 3rd in both P1 and P2, but with different drivers.  Sainz topped P1 from Verstappen, with Leclerc third, ahead of Norris, Russell, Perez and Hamilton.  It was Leclrec's turn to top P2, this time with Norris second, Sainz third, then Verstappen.  The Mercedes duo could only manage 8th (Russell) and 11th (Hamilton.)

Usual European times with qualifying at 3pm UK-time on Saturday and the race at 2pm on Sunday.  P3 - if you want to wait before doing your predictions (or better still, adjust the predictions you've already entered) is from noon to 1pm.

Good luck, everbody!

  • Thanks 1

Congrats to Tony, GrumpyG and Simon.  🍾

I've lost the plot with Bottas' DNF & the following VSC... 20 pts down the drain in the few last laps...

As JohnS mentioned, the Reds from Maranello really need to act on a less 'amateur' way.

Anyhow, enjoy the Summer Break, gents.

Cheers

Chris

I suspect that most have very similar teams, and possibly making similar predictions, as it looks that the differences in points between top and bottom is not massive.

I see Tony is a Russell supporter, I think he is amongst the most promising drivers at present. How Louis came to pass him, so tamely, is a shame, team orders, deference, or team machinations (with respect to tyre conditions). Hopefully Mercedes will recognise they have a new sherrif in town or possibly have another "Nico Rosberg" on their hands.

Yet again Verstappen and the team Red Bull (that is Newey, Horner etc), have shown how outstanding they are. Not sure about Perez, he is very good, though not always outstanding.

I understand that Mercedes are still trying to ham string Red Bull Powertrains,

GR recognised LH was on faster rubber so, unlike Alpine, saw no point in fighting with each other......

Possibly a bit premature to say there's a new Sheriff - rumour seems to be that Merc have experimented more with LH as he's more experienced. Will be interesting to see how the remaining races go as Merc resolve their issues.

Much as it pains me to say it, Red Bull look the complete package. I doubt they'll ever have anyone outstanding (apart from MV) as they'd be told long, hard, and repeatedly, that MV is #1....
