Good news for your predictions.

The FIA have done the right thing, any cars porpoising outside a set limit will be subjected to a penalty. Introduced as as a Safety Issue.

The lobbying by Mercedes to require all cars to have an increased ride height was rejected by both the majority of other teams and FIA.

I dont undertsand why the dont have a small letter box type slit under the chassis at the front with a brush plastic skirt and rear facing vents. creates a venturi effect. Works for flipping coins off the top of bottles lol

Evening all...

Another weekend,  another continent, and this time we're in Canada.  Or at least the race is in Canada,  I'm not!

So, the usual reminder - and as Montréal is 5 hours behind UK time we have a little more time to do this,  but;

Don't forget your predictions!

P1 saw Verstappen setting fastest time ahead of Sainz, Alonso, Perez and Leclerc.  Russell was next ahead of Stroll and then Hamilton.

P2 has just finished and again Verstappen set fastest time, this time ahead of Leclerc and Sainz.  Russell could only manage 7th, and Hamilton 13th.

P3 is tomorrow at 6pm UK-time, with qualifying at 9pm.  The race on Sunday is at 7pm UK-time.

Bonne chance à tous!

Evening all...

I'll delay clicking the "Submit" button until the Channel 4 coverage is winding-down...  So first, here are our scores today;

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 1 1 Igoronic racing iqon 184
2 4 0 Revers Racing Pete B 178
3 9 5 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 170
4 3 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 163
5 6 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 160
6 5 0 Pitts Specials john stones 158
7 11 1 teewrex John Tee 146
8 2 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 141
9 12 1 Torque of the devil Stu 127
10 7 1 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 120
11 8 1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 117
12 10 1 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 109
13 13 2 Hans Brake Zoonie 103
14 15 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 102
15 14 4 PSS Power Flyer 79

Iqon is top scorer today with an impressive 184 points.

Second is Pete with 178 points.

And third today is Kev with 170 points.

Well done to today's top 3!

So the overall table table now looks like this;

os League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 1 1 Igoronic racing iqon 1291
2 2 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 1291
3 3 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 1248
4 4 0 Revers Racing Pete B 1166
5 5 0 Pitts Specials john stones 1134
6 6 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 1114
7 7 1 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 1061

13 13 2 Hans Brake Zoonie 1008
14 14 4 PSS Power Flyer 990
15 15 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 916

And there's a change (kind of) at the top!  Whilst equal on 1291 points,  fantasygp lists Iqon as 1st,  and Tony as 2nd.  Whether or not they're really equal first, it literally couldn't be closer...

The next places remain unchanged until we get to 7th which is now occupied by Simon,  moving up 1, and displacing Charles to 8th.

Kev takes a giant leap of 5 places to 9th, with the GrumpGnome slipping a place to 10th.

John T and Stu both move up a place to 11th and 12th respectively, meaning that Zoonie drops 2 places to 13th, and Ade drops 4 places to 14th.

Last place remains unchanged!

Next up in a fortnight is Silverstone.

Montréal GP > UPDATE

Fernando received a 5 sec. penalty for 'obstructive driving', meaning he ended in 9th position.

Small mod but it seems to have reshuffled our Fantasy GP field with small but substantial 'moving around'...

The shared 1st place - Igor/Tony - seems to belong to the past now... Some of us gaining or losing (me !) a few points.

Sorry JohnP, but your assistance seems to be needed once more, I'm afraid...

Cheers

Thanks, Chris!

So,  following Alonso's post-race penalty some of us have gained a few points,  some have lost a few, and for some there's no change.

Here are the updated 'scores on the doors' for the day;

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 1 1 Igoronic racing iqon 195
2 4 0 Revers Racing Pete B 185
3 6 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 171
4 9 5 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 170
5 3 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 159
6 5 0 Pitts Specials john stones 158
7 10 2 teewrex John Tee 151
8 2 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 147
9 12 1 Torque of the devil Stu 127
10 7 1 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 120
11 8 1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 113
12 15 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 107
13 11 2 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 105
14 13 2 Hans Brake Zoonie 103
15 14 4 PSS Power Flyer 79

Iqon and Pete both gain points,  Kev's score is unchanged, but Glenn gains points and sneaks ahead of Kev by a single point to take our third place on the day.  Iqon's new score of 195 is even more impressive,  and the global high-score on the day was 225.

As for the overall chart,  here is how it now looks;

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 1 1 Igoronic racing iqon 1302
2 2 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 1297
3 3 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 1244
4 4 0 Revers Racing Pete B 1173
5 5 0 Pitts Specials john stones 1134
6 6 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 1125
7 7 1 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 1061
8 8 1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 1050
9 9 5 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 1047
10 10 2 teewrex John Tee 1041
11 11 2 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 1037
12 12 1 Torque of the devil Stu 1012
13 13 2 Hans Brake Zoonie 1008
14 14 4 PSS Power Flyer 990
15 15 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 921

At the top of the table Iqon is now confirmed as the clear leader - though only by 5 points!

Further down the table, 10th and 11 th places change hands,  with John T's 1-place gain now becoming a 2-place gain, putting him in 10th.  And GrumpyGnome's 1-place fall now becomes a 2-place fall to 11th.  There are no other place changes caused by the revised result - just changes to the points-gap between players.

Looks like those of you with Mercedes and probably Lewis, could now be on the upward direction. That is at least on tracks with long straights, with George having being told not to challenge Lewis (the same instruction that RB and Ferrari have previously issued).

In addition Wolff has certainly not given up on hamstringing both RB and Ferrari to win the championship. Now has one of his ex-legal team in the FIA, and is still trying to get changes that require other teams to reconfigure their cars. Game is still on!

  • 2 weeks later...

Evening all!

Silverstone this weekend,  and before anything else, the customary reminder;

Don't forget your predictions!

P1 started in the wet,  and ended with a red flag as Stroll crashed when everybody was switching to slicks.  Only Bottas and Hamilton set times on slicks and they headed the chart.  P2 saw rather faster times in the dry, with Hamilton again second - this time from Sainz, with Norris third and Verstappen 4th.  Have Mercedes now caught up with Ferrari and R-B?

P3 is at noon (UK time) tomorrow, with qualifying and the race both at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Good luck everyone!

Thanks John P.

It looks indeed like Merc has improved somewhat with their upgrades at Silverstone.

Great to see Q tomorrow... but will it be in the rain? ...

... and then the points rewarded on sunday.

Cheers & good luck to all...

Chris

Chris - I think there's a fairly high chance of rain at Silverstone this afternoon, but Sunday is forecast to be dry.

I'm just a little over 100 km from Silverstone,  and the weather we've been having in the past few days has been very changeable and very localised.  I went out for a bike ride on Thursday evening, and the forecast was showing a very low chance of rain.  But on my return, getting close to home, I found the roads becoming increasingly wet,  and eventually there was a little light rain, and by then there were huge pools of water on the road.  Apparently I'd missed a torrential - and rather local - downpour.

Same here in BE, John.

Since a short time - last week and this week - we had some days of quite violent very 'local downpours'.

The same as those you are describing actually.

Our meteo forecast for Silverstone shows a wet afternoon, possibly during Quali and indeed a dry Sunday afternoon.

We'll see soon enough, I guess...

Evening all!

Since the Channel 4 folks got to see the race live today, I can publish our scores now.

So here is how we all scored today;

Pos League

1 3 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 128
2 1 0 Igoronic racing iqon 117
3 8 3 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 117
4 11 1 Torque of the devil Stu 109
5 5 0 Pitts Specials john stones 107
6 6 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 102

8 2 0 Essex Racing Tony Clark 100

13 15 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 83
14 13 5 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 83
15 12 1 Hans Brake Zoonie 82

Top today with 128 points was Chris.

Sharing second on 117 points each are Iqon and GrumpyGnome.

Our scores today were all low - probably relecting an unexpected result!  7 of us scored less than 100,  and 7 scored over 100, with Tony sitting in the middle scoring exactly 100.

Well done to today's top 3.

Looking now at the overall table, this is what we see...

Pos League

Team Manager Pts
1 1 0 Igoronic racing iqon 1419
2 2 0 Essex Racing Tony Clark 1397

13 13 5 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 1083
14 14 0 PSS Power Flyer 1078
15 15 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 1004

No changes at the top - Iqon still leads from Tony, with Chris third.

Only 4 players changed positions in the table today.  GrumpyGnome climbs three places 8th,  Stu climbs one place to 11th and Zoonie climbs one place to 12th.  Heading in the opposite direction, Charles slides five places down to 13th.

Next weekend it's Austria - don't forget your predictions!

Thanks once more, John.

Very surprised about topping the table today.

I knew my end result wasn't really 'great' today but I never expected all the scores of the Forumites being even lower.

Even my predictions were disastrous with every single one totally 'blanco', except one 'nearly' for the podium...

Let's hope Zhou will be totally OK for Spielberg. What a huge scary moment...

Cheers

Chris
