After years of successful designs I'm not surprised you're finding something to inspire you. Me I prefer warbird fighters but sometimes like to build something a little relaxing to fly like a Sunderland flying boat.

At the moment I am looking at vintage, scale powered gliders, something that I have never done. Luckily I can sit and design the wings on the computer which saves an awful lot of drawing. This is the one that I am considering
Eric Robson
At first glance Luton Buzzard sprung to mind but that was low wing, another good subject without the parasol wing to set up..

I looked at the Luton Buzzard. Outer Zone do one which could be enlarged a bit. I might think about that as it would save drawing a plan up. extra slim
Not quite a new model, but not been flown for nearly 10yrs. I think it was a little edge 540 by Pete Tindal. I had a 25FX in it back in the day and it hammered around. Flew fine but not one of my favourites, so winter refurb and fitted a lighter OS25 FP which I had knocking about, 80g lighter engine and lighter Rx pack and it is so much nicer.. a case of less is more.. Lipo Man
I had a very basic little foamboard aerobatic hack. I built it in one evening without plans, and it flew beautifully off a 1300 3s battery for about eight minutes. I say “had” because last week I finally crashed it one time too many and broke the fuselage in half (not for the first time…). Bottom photo is of the plane before the mishap. Anyway - last week I built a new fuselage to re-use the wing which survived the crash unscathed. Again a one day build with no real plans other than a basic outline of something aerobatic (an Extra?). I was really pleased with how it turned out, and I just got home after the maiden. Just like before, eight minutes off that little 3 cell, but now with the increased fuselage side area it will knife edge! I must admit I’m quite pleased with it. Should be a fun little plane to keep in the car for spontaneous summer evening flying.

chris collis
I have finally finished and test flown my 1970s Osprey 100in glider. I’ve had the wings built for 45 years and in the loft so finally decided to build the rest of it! I built a home made power pod so it can thermal from flat field or take the pod off and slope soar it,very relaxing in light winds!Only 2 channel, rudder and elevator. The only downside is I had a stroke last year which resulted in partial blindness so I can only fly when I have someone to spot for me and take over if I lose it!
chris collis
Another two for one project. My O/D OV10 Bronco 60in span that I designed for pss and electric that I’ve repaired after an oops! All the wiring is installed so all I have to do is spend half an hour inserting motors and props and then down to the field for a flight. All built up construction and plaster plug made, then sent away for vac forming.Controls are ailerons, flaps, rudders, elevator and throttles when needed.Does anyone else use an airframe for power and slope so they can get more bang for their bucks? I always try to design my scale airframes to do this, saves building two aircraft!Even build two wings for twins or multi engine and one fuz.

martin collins 1
Two planes got flown for the first time today, plan built GeeBee Model E converted to electric on an E-Flite 60 and 6s lipo and my second Flair DR1, this one has an OS120 4 stroke fitted. Today was one of those top flying days, sunny, warm and close to no wind topped by being lucky enough to own and fly these lovely scale models. 😁

Ron Gray
Love the colour scheme Eric. Don’t worry about the build, I’ve been flying the flag as it was too wet for tractor maintenance.
martin collins 1
Another model maidend this morning, that is four in the last three weeks, shows how bad the weather has been up till recently! This one is a ModelTech Nutten Special, engine is a Laser 100. Flies beautifully and i think will become my go to Sport hack if flying a fuel powered model, my Priory Silhouette fulfils that roll in electric models, this has a similar look about it but is quite a bit bigger.
