The BMFA have done this for as long as I can remember - reducing fees for those joining part-way through the year. As our club membership contact, I got the usual 'reduced fees' leaflet around a couple of months ago. The fees will be reduced again for anybody joining on, or after, September 1st. Until a couple of years ago they did the September reduction by sending out credit notes, redeemable against the following year's membership. I much prefer this way!
