dirk tinck
Hello ! I'm in the middle of the sanding process and i must say , this is the part that i hate the most... For the first time in this build i need some motivation to go on . There is no ending in sight while others watch a movie or go out with friends and have fun...I'm sanding primer for days to come... ย
Phil Cooke
It will ALL be worth it Dirk! ... your paint finish in the PSS world is second to none - everybody looks to that finish as the standard to which we all aspire to achieve, so keep on sanding!!ย You will look back and laugh at this in weeks to come as you see your own reflection in the surface of the finished model pre-take-off!!
dirk tinck
thanks Phil ! Soon i'll be 60 , and by the time this bird is finishedย , i will have spent 10 % of my free evenings on it ! Makes me think if it's all worth it... Anyways , this evening i sanded the whole fuselage so there's just the wings to go ! All the other parts are done. I hope to be ready for paint by next weekend but i'm golng to take the weekend off and visit PROWING in Soest ,ย Germany to buy a second set of flight battery's and enjoy the show. It's allways worth it ! I'll be at one of the next PSS weekends too , really looking forward to that !! ย 2

Started to cut out the window openings with a diamant disc and sanding rolls on the dremel tool , there's not much left to paint anymore ! Visiting PROWING in Germany gave me courage again !! ย

dirk tinck
Sorry for the dubble post (me and computers...) ย First acceseries are on !
dirk tinck
Hello all ! First paint is on ! It's only on the insides whom become visible when removed like the canope-frame and the hatches. I don't like it when primer becomes visible ย ย I have chosen the Salvadorian livery for the simple reason that i like it most and i wanted real camo ! Problem is : there is very little info on this air force. The first image is a drawing , i know, but i like it , so... For the ones interested , i'm using good quality matt wall paint from LEVIS sprayed on. It's very strong when dry and easy to clean. Relatively cheap at 6โฌ for 1/4 Liter and any color is available in a hartbeat ! ย More to come soon !

dirk tinck
Hi Alan , it's the back part of the fuse , where the tail cone comes to sit
dirk tinck
Hello all ! Next two colors are sprayed on the insides . The overspray will be sanded smooth before the big job . I'm going to try prรฉ-shading the panel lines to get the much disired wheatering look and markings will be sprayed over paint masks ย Meet my wall of shame... ย ย ย ย
dirk tinck
Hi all ! I did another test today. I tried the prรฉ shading methode on a test piece , relax , it's not the good fuse ! I sprayed the panellines with a coat of black , followed by a thin coat of the underside Grey. Not easy because the Grey covers the black paint very quick ! Funny,ย everything i had learned to avoid in the automotive industry , i have to create in modelling! Matt surface , dark spots , oil stains,ย etc. Still have to learn a lot regarding wheathering ! ย ย X

dirk tinck
Hi all ! Slow but certain progress... ย ย ย ย The soft edges are done with 3M masking foam strips. Then try not to spray under them. ย ย X ย
Paul De Tourtoulon
Good luck with the paint, I built and flew a Hughes 500 in those paint colours, ok no wings to see, but it was difficult to see in the air.
