Good repair Cliff but if the wire undercarriage is designed to 'pop out' of it's slot in the event of a heavy landing, that will always break the plastic parts as they are screwed to the fuselage. Not exactly a very smart design! Can you not fit plastic saddles or rubber bands to retain the wire but allow some flex somehow. Alternatively find a way for the plastic parts, presently screwed, to 'let go' when necessary? A couple of pads of velcro between the fuselage and the plastic lugs (currently screwed) might be a way forward. I am quite a fan of velcro for holding bits in place on model aircraft, stronger than one might think. Just be aware that not all velcro is born equal!

The velcro idea is very good Piers, I like it. The u/c as it stands isn't really 'designed ' to pop out, rather a case of me not noticing it had come up out of its slot a little . I love rubber bands for the flexibility (pun not intended), it could be possible to fit a dowel through the fuselage as per usual practice but the sides would need an area of ply to help take the strain, it's only foam.
