Peter Miller
Well if it flies as well as the original it will be great, aerobatics AND thermaling. Just for laughs because people have been bellyaching about where to put their registrations I went for the BIG option

Peter Miller
Plans of the original are on Outer zone The electric version will eventually be in RCM&E but as it will fit on one side of a sheet it will wait until there is another small model to join it
Peter Miller
Well it was flat calm but the light was terrible to photograph a white model. But I got some shots. The model flew well and soon climbed to a dot in the sky. It will thermal well. I knew that from the Cox powered one. It is aerobatic but don't expect precision aerobatics. Now I just want to fly it in better light.

Peter Miller
Thanks. Don't hold your breath. It will need to wait until A) i get better pictures and B) Kevin has a plan that only needs one side of a sheet. P
Matt Carlton
I like that a lot. Ideal for a nice summer evening, or one of those balmy summer days, with a Thermos of tea and a cream tea in a cool box.
Peter Miller
It is very relaxing but capable of doing a bit of aerobating if the mood takes one
kc
Peter, could we have a glimpse of the motor bay and battery area of the electric version please? I have the original plans from RM Oct 92 and would like to build an electric version but I cannot wait until the latest version is published but want to modify the old plans. Seeing how you did it would help.
Peter Miller
I moved F-1 5 mm forward for a little extra room for the batter I am not sure how well you will be able to see the plan that I have attached. I will get the pictures off my other laptop tomorrow O-Four9ier.pdf
Peter Miller
I see that you can down load the plan....Aren't you lucky
kc
Thank's Peter. It's all clear and I notice some modifications that I hadn't expected like keyhole cowl fixing. Some traditional items too like torque rod aileron servo and rubber banded wings.
Peter Miller
I stuck with most of the original design. The wings are a little thin to feed tubes through. I can tell you that it does aerobatics very nicely although not really precision. It does climb to a great height pretty quickly and glides superbly
Martin Harris - Moderator
I'm guessing your Operator ID registration numbers are somewhat larger than the 3mm minimum...?
Peter Miller
Yes, Just a little!! So many people where bellyaching about where to put it, how to hide it etc. etc that I just put it right across the wing for fun. Probably any official wanting to see it would not be able to find it because it is so huge!!?
Wihtgar
Don't the regs say that the operator number has to be on the fuselage somewhere ...............?
Peter Miller
The fuselage wasn't big enough!!!!
EarlyBird
Nothing to stop one having the operator number on the wings and fuselage, it's just as a bit of fun.

This may be true but it is off topic as we are talking about the model not registration numbers, which has more than adequately been covered in another Topic to the point where I am bored with it. Peter Miller
The rules state "The main body of the aircraft." My wings are bigger than the fuselage therefore must be the main body. It may have been noticed by some that my input to this forum has been considerably reduced since it was mutilated. If anyone starts nitpicking on MY threads they will get a short sharp answer which will get me completely banned for life. You have been warned!!

Peter raises an interesting point regarding the definition of the main body - something that many of us may have taken to mean the fuselage. There may well be some merit in discussing it but this thread would be more appropriate.
Peter Miller
Thanks Martin I am not in the mood to tolerate any hijacking and nit picking or whinging in my threads
kc
Peter. I found that by bookmarking 'Latest Posts' and changing a few settings like brightness and compacted that the forum now works pretty much the same as the old forum. I still miss the number of replies figure in latest posts - a good guide to whether question has never been answered at all or gone unnoticed - but otherwise OK. Except of course all my old photos are more difficult to find but at least they are there. So the 'mutilation' has been mitigated to a large extent if the settings are tweaked.
