Mitchell Howard
Has anyone ever heard of this manufacturer? Link. I've been looking for a cheaper smaller model to have a go at building something as a first foray out of ARTF models. These look up my alley and they're made in the UK by the looks of things. They don't seem to have any real online presence that's up-to-date and I wondered if anyone had any idea what the quality was like or if the instructions were any good. I'm not affiliated with the company. Edited March 22, 2021 by Mitchell Howard
kc
Recently there has been a shortage of balsa in Britain so I would be surprised if they actually had kits available yet. Supplies have only just become available at other firms. If they have them in stock it should be worth buying but they are very small models which explains the low cost. FMK are the same as 5 Star Adhesives /Starlock which are now produced in Bulgaria. A few years ago they used to have a stand at the London Model Engineering Exhibition - always nice people to chat to but I never bought any of their kits as they were too small for my taste ( too difficult to see! )
kc
Looking further at the FMK models the Flutterbug looks a bit bigger and easier to see. At the price seems worthwhile IF it's in stock. You might also consider the kits by Phoenix Model products and the Cheerie looks a nice model but still rather small ( for me )- says it's in stock now. You can view the plan and the very nice instructions before you buy. Others report good things about Phoenix and say you can telephone him if you have any problems. For myself I would consider the Pzazz or the Shindig as a better size model. Edited March 22, 2021 by kc
Bob Cotsford
I had a Ripster many years ago, in fact it was one of my first forays into both brushless/lipo power and 2.4GHz radio. Good kit for the price, and it flew well. Last year I tried to buy a kit from their 5 Star Adhesives Ebay shop but at that time there were problems sending items to the UK because of the lockdown. Andy Stephenson
As far as I can tell they are the same people as this Shop4glue
