Dennis Bryant Chipmunk

Hi – I am in the process of completing my Dennis Bryant DHC1 Chipmunk build (two years in the making) and have been looking for suppliers of bespoke decals/rub downs etc. The model is ic powered and will be finished using satin/matt Klass Kote from Fighteraces. This is my first plan built model, any help would be much appreciated.

I've been very happy with the decals from Pyramid Models.

Lovely model BTW, have a Bryant Chippy ready to go myself, but not to the detailed standards of yours Charles.

Bit off topic that looks like a Brian Taylor Gladiator wings  in the background? Do Like the chipmunk?

Great job on the Chipmunk. I built the Airsail one and put all the  rivet detail on when I first retired, it won the scale trophy at our club. I am currently flying a Seagull Chippy 80" span, fly's great but only semi scale.

Thanks for the kind comments – I will check out Pyramid Models. The Chippy will be Laser 70 powered and the Gladiator is having a Saito 120 radial up front.

Where did you get the orange day-go paint?

Hi David – the day-glo paint is from Tamiya – TS-96 Fluorescent Orange. Spray light coats over a white base coat until the correct colour is achieved.

Thanks for that Charles. I’d searched for day-glo in the past and could only find Humbrol. I could not afford to buy enough tiny tins to do an rc model. Super nice chipmunk by the way. The level of detail makes it look much larger than 69”.

Thanks Danny – David, I followed Danny's Chipmunk build (Poor mans Spitfire) which is on this site under 'THE WORKSHOP' - Chip Shop – some great tips and hints on producing scale models.
