Ernie
Oh, I am getting suspicious in my dottage I have just recieved an email from RCM&E asking me to change the method I use to, pay my subscription. It even refers to the esteemed editor by name But is it genuine? It seems to be, but who knows. ernie
Outrunner
Ernie. Probably not a scam, I did see a message that if you pay your subscription via credit card you need to change the payment in favour of the new publisher Morton's. I don't think it effects payment via direct debit.
John Wagg
Generally if the email uses your real name or some personnel identification then it's probably genuine. But always be wary when anything asks for any change involving information or monies.
Geoff Copping
If I'm asked to change anything by text or email then I always get in direct contact with whoever it is that the change is purportedly coming from just to confirm it's genuine. Recently I get emails saying I've made a large payment in Euro's by Paypal and to ring this number if I haven't made the payment. The email is always addressed 'Dear Customer'. Obviously scam so block and delete.
Andy Stephenson
The obvious answer to the Paypal scam is to log on to your account and not by using any links in the text or email and check recent payments.
Beth Ashby Moderator
Hi Ernie, If this is regarding paying a sub by a continuous credit card then it's not a scam... I've just come on here to put a post up with the relevant information. There is also an article about it on the main homepage that you can look at here Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll answer the best I can. Thanks Beth
