martin collins 1
I need to buy a few new receivers and was looking at the AR620, does anyone know if this will work with a gen 1 DX8? I have been on the Spektrum website and found this, it seems to suggest the rx will work in PWM mode but not allow any of the telemetry etc which is not a bother to me, what is PWM ? https://www.spektrumrc.com/ProdInfo/Files/SmartESC-Compatibility-EN.pdf
John Lee
Yes it is backwards compatible to your Tx’s DSM2 protocol. This user guide is a better document for the specifications. PWM = I believe this stands for Pulse Width Modulation, the standard Rx output to a servo/ESC, rather than Spektrum’s SMART throttle signal to their SMART ESC’s
martin collins 1
Thanks John, in don`t see any mention of gen 1 DX8 in your user guide, my tx does DSM2 and DSMX, will this AR620 work in DSMX mode on my tx or DSM2?
Denis Watkins
Your AR620 is DSMX Martin
John Lee
Ah, sorry Martin I assumed that your Tx would be DSM2 only. You are lucky to have a Tx that does both (as does my early DX9). That being the case it will bind as DSMX.

EvilC57
However, I've just remembered a thread I started here a while ago. Make sure the receiver has the latest software installed.
