John Timmis Posted July 27 Share Posted July 27 This TX has served me well for many years. It has developed a fault. The data input lever now only works in one direction. The problem with that Tx is that if the Tx fails the only new Tx that will work with the FASST Rx are the very expensive top of the range Tx. ( see the list online of compatible Futaba Tx/Rx ) The old Rx would be of little use. However the 35 mhz 6EX Tx looks the same as regards that lever so maybe an old 35 Mhz one could supply the part if required. A squirt of switch cleaner might be enough to resolve the problem - or perhaps it would be practical to substitute it with a generic centre biased non latching switch or a couple of simple push buttons if you’re not worried by appearance? RottenRow Posted July 28 Share Posted July 28 John, having just looked at my 6EX (35MHz with an FrSky hack module for 2.4GHz), I would say that the data input lever just operates two small momentary switches that are mounted on the main circuit board. The lever itself just pivots in the front casing. When you operate that lever switch in each direction, you should feel and hear a positive click in both directions. If you do, then it’s likely that in the direction that it doesn’t work, the switch has either failed internally, or has a poor soldered joint where it is mounted on the board. If there is no click in one direction, perhaps with the lever moving further than normal, it’s likely that the switch has become unsoldered and has fallen off. It may then rattle inside the tx. Either way, the tx would be repairable by anyone with an interest in electronics, with minimal component costs. I would go easy on spraying switch cleaner in there.
