David Davis
Brian, I bring a wealth of inexperience to the world of model helicoptors but I have the same receiver in my Galaxy Models Mystic which is a large, heavy sports model powered by a Laser 155 (26cc) four stroke engine. I would not have installed the receiver in such a model if I had any misgivings about its reliability so as far as I know an ar620 will be fine in your helicoptor. Learner
I have a few 620 's and they have all been faultless, but on a beast like a trex 700 which probably contains lots of carbon I think I would use something with an extra satellite or 2. Cuban8
All very encouraging as I've just taken delivery of a new AR620 for my as yet unflown Dennis Bryant Chippy.
leccyflyer
Have lots of AR620s in a whole range of models of various sizes and the combination of no external antennae and the bind button makes then about the easiest Spektrum receiver to install and operate. Haven't had an issue with any of them and there were very much my preferred receiver until Spektrum bumped the price up by more than 50% overnight a while back. Haven't used any in helicopters or carbon fibre fuselages, where the lack of alternate signal paths and blocking might be considered as an issue for some applications. Cuban8
Paid £49 from Leeds Model Shop which I didn't think was too bad, next day delivery for a few quid - as much as £58 from other suppliers so they didn't get my business. Do they not realise that we actually shop around?
leccyflyer
They were £34.50 before the recent price rise, so that is still a big hike in price. Sorry HH, you lost this repeat customer's business with that move. I've switched to the very capable 7 channel Lemon receivers with telemetry and stabilisation. Will continue to enjoy the dozens of AR620s that I have in regular use, but won't be buying any more at fifty quid a go.
