flying daddy
When I charge my lipo up on my charger ,it says it is fully charged but when I check the lipo they are on 4.17 /4.18 a cell .This happens on all my lipos ,so it is not my lipos. I recently charged my lipo on my mates charger and they all came to 4.2 a cell Do I need to look at replacing my charger ?
Simon Chaddock
Does your charger have a 90% charge option that you have activated in error? Otherwise it does look like you need a new charger.
John Lee
A lot of chargers have an option to tweak the final voltage setting, sometimes deep down in one of the menues. Check the manual to see if that is available. Keep in perspective - you are looking at measuring two hundredth of a volt, that variation is to be expected in a mass market product and can be affected by dirty contacts &/or substandard balance leads. As long as it is charging consistently & balancing the cells I would not worry too much about it.

You'd need a proper calibrated meter to check it anyway - volt meters (DVMs) that you can buy for not a lot of money will have this order of reading discrepency, or worse when new and out of the box. The expensive Fluke meter that I used for work had to be calibrated annually by a test house and would usually need adjustment albeit by only a very small amount. Still have it as it was gifted to me when I packed up work. Edited September 12 by Cuban8
Ron Gray
I only charge my Li-Pos to that level anyway, I stopped fully charging them some time back.

The final cutoff voltage may be tweakable

Cuban8
If you do have a charger that can be adjusted to account for a small deviation from the ideal final figure, it's still only going to be an indication unless a known calibrated meter (which very few will have access to) is used as the guide. By all means set with a standard hobby DVM to get the 'correct' figure to display, but what you see will almost certainly not be what you're actually getting.
